Daily linkage -- first to some stuff on our site

gayleFirst, here's Rob Kasper's review in today's Live! section of the Inner Harbor's new Kona Grill.

Here's David Zurawik's interview with Duff Goldman, in which the Charm City Cakes owner and Food Network personality talks about his post-"Ace of Cakes" plans. Goldman reveals the basics of one of the three shows he has in development but keeps quiet about the other two. I have a huge hunch about what one of the other shows might be, but I'm keeping quiet about if for now. I've got to tell someone, though; I think I might type up my hunch and email it to myself: "King Midas has donkey's ears!!"

Roadfood memories

roadfoodFans of Jane and Michael Stern will enjoy this thread on the Roadfood.com forums, in which Michael and his readers reminisce about some of the early Roadfood people and places that aren't around anymore.

This thread was inspired by this other one on Roadfood restaurants that have stood the test of time (i.e., the 33 years since the l publication of the first "Roadfood" book.)

Also, enjoy looking at this Chesapeake Bay Crab Cakes eating tour.

The Mobbies -- nominate your favorite Maryland blog

mobbiesThe Mobbies are upon us. Who are Maryland's Best Bloggers?

The Baltimore Sun's second annual contest for bloggers and assorted other social media adepts is in the nomination phase -- details are here.

There is a category for food-related blogs -- some I recognize, some I don't. If you don't see your favorite there -- it might be your own -- go nominate it. When the proper voting begins, maybe we'll take a closer look at all of the nominees.

How to link in comments

What do you give to your cyberbuddies who already have everything? (Everything that counts, anyway, like intelligence, the right level of nuttiness, good humor and forgiving natures.)

The only thing I could come up with was an easy way to find the directions on how to link to other Web pages in comments. So I'm making this entry a category of one. Anytime you feel like linking, just click on the category "Linking" on the right side of the page.

Here's the format. Just copy it and plug in the Web address and the word or words you want to make a link.

 <a href="the Web address here" rel="nofollow">the link here</a>

I'm in Buenos Aires, by the way, where it's sunny and 80 degrees, and three hours later.

About this blog
Richard Gorelick was appointed The Baltimore Sun's restaurant critic in September 2010. Before joining the paper staff fulltime, he contributed freelance criticism and features articles about food to area and regional publications. Along the way, he dispatched for short-distance trucking companies, shilled for cultural non-profits, and assisted in cognitive neurology research – never the subject, always the control.

He takes restaurants seriously but not himself, and his favorite restaurant is the one you love, too.
