Saigon Remembered closed
After almost 10 years on York Road, Saigon Remembered served its last meal yesterday. Michael Sragow has this post about the changes in the neighborhood around the Senator theater.
Its fans were absolutely devoted to the Nguyen family, and word is that the Nguyens might resurface soon with another, smaller version of Saigon Remembered.
What do you remember about Saigon Remembered?
Who remembers the original location in Belair-Edison?

Didn't see an official report but saw Dizz owners were reporting the Dizz Grandview is closed. That spot is cursed.

Always thought it was a little weird that Saigon Remembered was next to the (now closed) Armed Forces Recruiting Center...

Would you expect to find it next to a surf shop, because, you know, Charlie don't surf.
I think my girlfriend put a hex on the place. We went there for the first time a few weeks ago. And now she will do a little dance, because we never have to go back.

I remember that the first time I went there, we had just seen Apocalypse Now Redux at the Senator, so it seemed a bit strange and yet appropriate to be dining on Vietnamese food. The last time I went there (which was some time ago) it was so crowded and busy busy busy. We waited forever for our food, the check, etc., that I guess we never felt like venturing back.

Ate there twice, the first time I was unimpressed, the 2nd time I found a shard of metal in my bland lemongrass chicken and the waitress could have cared less, I almost swallowed. After, thet never again.
