The Druid Hill Park farmers' market

Remember my telling you about the plans for a Druid Hill Park farmers' market.

In her Garden Variety blog, Susan Reimer reports that plans are proceeding. A market committee is meeting every Wednesday night at the Recreation & Parks building in anticipation of a June 1 opening.

Take a look.

What do you think? Would you go to the Druid Hill farmers' market?

I would go to the Druid Hill Park farmer's market...with a police escort!

It's just across the bridge from Hampden. It's not that bad.
Yeah there are problems there but no more so than in Bolton Hill.

I go to the park almost every day and find it a beautiful and full of activity- people walking, biking and jogging around the reservoir, basketball players, tennis player, people sitting on benches enjoying the beautiful park. Stop over and see the beautiful flower show at the Conservatory. It's amazing
The park is an amazing asset to Baltimore and very safe.

I would go to a market in DHP. I live in Bolton Hill and would make the trip up to the park for a Farmers' Market. What a beautiful setting for a Farmers' Market.

Gee, imagine shopping for fresh foods and vegetables in an environment that is as natural as you can have in the city! Trees, grass, lawns, recreation and for all those folks who who believe that the park is problematic, well, just stay home, locked behind your doors and closed curtains and call out for pizza every day.For the people that enjoy the fabric of like and enjoyment of our town, come on down and shop!

I think Druid Hill Park would be a wonderful location for a market. I visited the zoo today and love going to the Conservatory. COUNT ME IN!!!

I'd go as long as that Steve guy isn't there. He sounds like the type who wets himself every time he crosses the city line.

I'd go. I love to take my 2 year old to the Conservatory and a market would be a wonderful addition.

Hey Cheap Jim,

I bleed Baltimore orange and black. I am just a realist about the amount of crime in Baltimore City and it ain't getting any better thanks to a poor police chief.

Pleasantly surprised come back and see that other people in this city are willing to speak out (and venture out) in favor of different parts of the city!
