Your weekend dining PLUS featuring the sleeping pet of the week

odieSpring arrived last night. I forgot to look at the moon on Saturday. I decided to inventory every article of clothing I possess. (Why?)

The Baltimore Greek Week is just getting started. My picks -- the $16 fixed-price buffet at Zorba's and the $20 fixed-price menu at Ikaros. There's more information here.

Talbot County Restaurant Week continues through Sunday

Monday dining specials around town are gathered here.  The dining specials main page is here.

We had our own shad roe special last night, which means that spring is officially here, as far as we are concerned.

On Saturday, Husband and I went to Yama Sushi Bar, the new place in Hampden. It just opened recently, and the sushi was fantastic and really fresh. We shared a sushi/sashimi combination plate and the fish practically melted in our mouths. The sushi chefs and our server were friendly and attentive, and the decor was thoughtful. (Plus, walking back home we were able to look at the lovely, large moon.) Last weekend we ate at the Corner and had a really fantastic plate of mussels and frites (with homemade mayo). The dining scene in Hampden is really looking up!

i was lucky enough to have a long weekend in florida for orioles spring training. with 80+ temps and no clouds every day, it really felt like we were getting summer 3 months early...till we landed back to a wet baltimore this morning.

during the games we noshed on brats/hotdogs/fresh grouper sandwiches/peanuts and a great selection of microbrews.

while out an about various beach towns (siesta key highly rec'd) we sampled peel and eat shrimp, oyster shooters, an amazing dinner at sarasota's Owens Fish Camp.

i have other sarasota recommendations if anyone's interested lemme know.
