The Drovers Grill review

blackangusThe review of Drovers Grill & Wine Company  has actually been up online for a week now. But because the review got bumped from last Sunday's print edition, I held off linking until now.

Pictured is chef Kevan Vanek's showcase Black Angus platter.

Anybody dropped by Drovers Grill* yet.

Haven't been yet, but I like the photo. And the chef has the quite-rare honor of an anagrammed name!

My only disagreement is with you calling Firefly Farms the premier cheese maker in Md. I would vote for Cherry Glen.

An excellent review. Not everything was perfect. But what you saw and ate gave you a rooting interest in the restaurant's success that came across to readers. At least this one. I hadn't heard of Drovers Grill. But now, if I'm in Mt. Airy and hungry, I'll certainly give it a try.

"But what you saw and ate gave you a rooting interest in the restaurant's success"

You really think so Michael? The Sun review gave this restaurant the dreaded two and half star treatment for service, food and atmosphere. As my girlfriend and I have come to learn, that sort of rating from the Sun generally equates to mediocrity. The narrative portion of the article sounded like your typical "trying to focus on the positive" review by Mr. Gorelick. While I'm all for that, the two and half star rating makes me very leary about eating here.

Add to that the fact that the website front parking lot picture makes this place look like it's in a double wide, along with their exclusive selection of Maryland wine, and you have a place I'd definitely think twice about visiting.

i personally think this place can really be the new place around to try. i can say that with all confidence seeing as i was the one who took care of the gentleman from the sun, and might even take of u if you come in. i think everyone should give us a shot, you wont regret it. we really are a hidden gem
