Sloop Betty on the rocks, with a twist

sloopIt's been almost 40 years since anyone in Maryland was licensed to distill spirits.

Coming very soon, though -- Sloop Betty vodka.

Jill Rosen has the story about the fledgling Blackwater Distillings, over in Stevensville.

And after vodka, what's next for Blackwater? Gin, flavored vodkas, and, down the road, rye, Rosen tells me.

when and where can i buy some?

I look forward to buying a real local craft produced rye. Till then I'll have to hope no one sees me as I get my plastic jug of Pikesville.

and it looks to have kosher certification. They should try to get it into some synagogues for Purim.
