John E. McIntyre on the green bean casserole

Here's John McIntyre's post on You Don't Say on that infamous Thanksgiving green bean casserole. He doesn't like it so much.

It was okay when I was younger and didn't know better. Now, it's just gross. Bringing fresh green and yellow beans and roasting them.

If you use blanched green beans instead of canned (which should only be eaten when starvation is imminent), it can be really taste. Make the sauce and the onions by hand and it can be sublime.
