Rob Kasper goes over to the dark side

Rob KasperRob Kasper, who's penned a food column in The Sun for nearly 30 years, has a new gig: writing for the editorial page.

Rob announces this change in a farewell column that also includes his views on fall beers.

In the column, Rob opines:

"I don't like pumpkin beers, but the rest of the drinking world seems to crave them. So much for my editorial judgment."

I've never seen someone's shirt strobe on a still image.

I'm with Rob on this one. I have tried for years to enjoy them but I would take any Oktoberfest beer over a Pumpkin beer any day. I don't care how Imperial they get.

Rob: It's obvious that you are a print guy. A TV guy would never have worn that print shirt in a photograph. That's why we love you!

I think that shirt is a more pattern, not the actual shirt. I could be wrong.

Sorry, I meant moire pattern.

Good for Rob, I hope.

I am with him, I don't like the pumpkin beers either.

I miss his Saturday's Hero column.

Congrats Rob, but it is in my DNA to oppose any and every thing espoused by those commies over on the editorial page. In light of this development I have no choice but to start drinking pumpkin beers.

RoCK is okay, even if he is a republican.

Fie! RoCK is now a registered Democrat! Huzzah!

RoCK is a DINO.

What's this? Is RoCK voting in the opposing party's primaries to mess with our heads?

(Attempting tact, here:) I pretend that the Editorial page does not exist. (Never in my wildest dreams, did I expect to find myself agreeing with RoCK!) I will attempt to read it now because I enjoy Rob Kasper's writing.

I,too, miss Saturday Hero.

I always enjoyed Rob's columns, the food and the home repair ones as well, but I didn't seem to see them much on these pages. Were they there? I always looked forward to the paper on Wednesdays for the food section and especially Rob Kasper. I hope we will be kept informed on how long Rob is able to hold out this year before he turns his heat on.
