I know I'm supposed to be excited.

I may OD on banana malts!

My wife likes their corn dogs.

Tater Tots! I wish they would put one of these on the east side of Baltimore County.

It's been a long time coming and still a long way to Randallstown from Perry Hall, BUT,
I will drive over occasionally JUST for the Chili Cheese Dog.

Their drinks are good. I like the limeade.

Update on the former Orchard Inn on Joppa in Towson...

renovations continue, the brick building has been faced with stucco and now oddly enough, has vinyl siding on two sides.

Still no definite word on what's going in there. Anyone out there know who the liquor license has been transferred to?

As someone who has driven to both Delaware and Lancaster to get my fix, I welcome this news.

(As a native Texan, my mother claims I was raised in utero by Sonic milkshakes. Thanks, mom. I think.)

Sonic's commercials are such a tease. Finally, one's coming to the area. About time, Sonic!

Fritos w/ Chili Cheese - enuf said.

Stagger,
Hanover PA has a Sonic for awhile now.

According to an announcement last year, Sonic Drive-In aims to open dozens of locations in the Baltimore/DC area, so this is the first of many. I seem to remember hearing that another one may be in the works for the Cockeysville area.

The official Facebook page for the new location is here:

Yes, but that's Hanover. I have no reason to go there. Sonic or not.

Update: I've found out that in addition to the new Sonic location on Liberty Road, there are three more planned for Middle River (near Bengies Drive-In), Cockeysville/Hunt Valley, and I believe Owings Mills.

Spam, no word on a location for Route 40 in Catonsville? Darn, we don't really have many fast food options if you don't count Chik Fil A, Checkers, McDonald's, Burger King, Arby's, Popeye's, KFC, Taco Bell, Wendy's, another McDonald's, Subway, Mr. G's, Sorrento's and probably a few more I've left out between the Baltimore/Howard county line and Johnnycake/Academy Roads. Seriously, Sonic, I need some choices here!

P.S. Didn't count restaurants that are more traditionally sit down places like Panera, Pizza Hut, Applebee's...

Good Lord, "Mr. G's" is still open on Route 40? He was there when I was a kid, and God was a boy.

Does he still sell Root Beer in the frosted mugs?

Mr. G's is not even close to what it once was, by a long shot.

I've eaten at Sonic's in Georgia and the one in Hanover, Pa.

Sonic's food is the worst of all the fast food places

Used to get a pretty good green chile cheesburger from Sonic when I lived in New Mexico. Doubt they'd offer it here, though...

It's about time. I was getting sick of seeing the commercials promoting all kinds of tasty treats that you can't find in MD.

Jack, I don't know about the root beer. I don't think they have actual mugs, just disposables, but I've only been there once for food (couple times for ice cream). Suffice to say, the time it took to get our food should probably have precluded me from putting them in the "fast" food category.

My experience with Sonic - garbage. I wouldn't walk across the street for if it was free.

I hear one is coming to Cecil County too.....
