Milkshakes, delivered

Milkshake

Mr. Magoo Pizza in Greektown seems to be doing a brisk delivery business -- in milkshakes.

And Baltimore doctors, nurses and other hospital staffers seem to be the ones mostly slurping them down.

A Magoo driver delivered five shakes to Mercy hospital one night this week.

"I'm in Greektown. It takes, like, 20 minutes for a driver to get to Mercy," said Hassan Mahfouz, Magoo's owner.

The shakes cost $3.99 apiece, so that helps make it worth his while. And there's a four-shake minimum for delivery.

For some reason -- crazy work hours? dedication to calcium intake? -- hospital employees seem to be among his biggest shake customers.

Said Mahfouz: "Mercy, Shock Trauma, Johns Hopkins and Bay View -- all the hospitals -- Union Memorial, all of them like my shakes."

what are their hours? I know that my fellow kitchen workers were on a serious milkshake binge last year (now replaced with red bull binge, heh) but hey if theyre good and they deliver....

Kelis' milkshake brought all the boys to the yard. Mr. Magoo brings all the milkshakes to the boys. Hee hee.

Seriously, though, my wife (who works for Mercy) discovered this place the other night and said their Moose Tracks milkshake was to die for. I believe they're open until 1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays and midnight most other days. Amie said they even have milkshakes with liquor in them. Consider my curiosity piqued.

Sam...that song will get somebody movin' for sure, huh? haha

Milkshakes are perfect for hospital workers. Protein, fat, and energy when there's no time for a sit-down meal. On a night when the admissions keep pouring in, the orders are piling up, and the monitors won't stop going off, a milkshake will get you through.

A bunch of us at Mercy are now very interested! Do you know where we can find a menu??

I've seen that guy delivering milkshakes to workers at a certain restaurant in LI. Has has a cute little milkshake caddy for them.

Beth, there is no online menu, maybe they could fax you one.
