Spring in my step

crocus

I just went out for a run and while the temperature was well shy of the balmy lower 50s we've been promised for today, I came across a sure sign of spring: purple crocuses blooming in a neighbor's front lawn.

A few chest-high piles of snow dot the same street, but I'm looking on the bright side.

If you need more convincing, I suggest downloading Tony Bennett and Bill Evans' "You Must Believe In Spring" and considering this:

"The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts is now accepting applications for the 33rd annual Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar. Space is available for farmers, crafters, concessionaires and street performers."

I received that notice via e-mail.

But back to news picked up on my run through Southwest Baltimore: that security detail outside Sheila Dixon's house seems finally to be gone. Maybe the cops have moved on to someone who really deserves protection, like my pigs' feet squealer.

I know! You'd think they could at least get the 50+ thing right since they got the damned 4 ft of snow thing right!

motorcycles. finally. spring. whew.

News item: The first robin of spring was seen today frozen to the curb on Scott Street. The medical examiner stated that he had been there for several weeks before his exposure due to melting snow.

bra1nchild, the earthquake in Chile, according to various new reports, may have actually cause a minor change in the degree of tilt of the earth's axis. I'm hoping that the weather change as a result will be that Baltimore will become the same tropical climate as oh, Hawaii or maybe at least Key West.

With my luck though, we'll probably start having weather like the northern arctic.

Today is even nicer than yesterday. It feels like spring really is going to show up.

My pear tree is preparing for spring. I has buds!

Spring has sprung down here too, with the first load of spring breakers coming in this past weekend.

Also, I played golf yesterday and got quite a sunburn on my face.
