Free pancakes Tuesday
Tomorrow is National Pancake Day, and to be perfectly honest, I don't much care. Not that I have anything against pancakes. It's the obscure commemorative days I can do without.
But I've decided National Pancake Day is worth a mention for this reason: Participating IHOPs are serving free short stacks of buttermilk pancakes all day Tuesday, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
That's right. You pay nothing. Nada. Zip.
Unless the guilt gets to you.
The Pancake Day promotion is a charity fund-raiser. Patrons will be asked to make a donation to to a children's charity. Money raised in the Baltimore area will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Johns Hopkins Children's Center.
You can always tell your server you gave at the office. But heck, it's for a good cause. And you're saving all that dough -- batter? -- you would have spent on pancakes.

If you like free pancakes, yes, this is shilly... but I really do have almost 300 restaurant food offers listed here.
There's all kinds of stuff in there -- poke around -- for kids, breakfasts, sandwiches, dinners, buffets, even steak. Hey, in this economy, free ain't bad.
captcha = wost convicted. If they mean idealistic conviction, that would be all of us before we reached age 25.

Wow! Tamar, you haven't known me long enough to know it, but I am the mom of a 17 y.o. lover of all things free! I have free samples of stuff all over the house because the kid is insatiable for free stuff!
I have e-mailed him your link, shill or not, you have made a young man very happy! :)

Awww.... I do, too. Food, makeup, what-have-you. I got it from my dad, who was, truth be told, a hoarder. But he sure had a lot of great stuff! ;)
I find with the food that it helps to print out the coupons now and keep them in your purse. It kinda sucks when you are at a place and the free food coupon is at home.

Ummm... I thought pancake day was last Tuesday. Like for Mardi Gras... Shrove Tuesday?

I'd rather celebrate Fat Tuesday with King Cakes than Shrove Tuesday with pancakes. Still not sure what I'm supposed to make of those fastnachts.

I hear they were trying to settle on a date but just kept flip-flopping for the most part.
Thank you, I'm here all week.

What pigtown said!
(We serve some sort of pancakes or crepes most every Sunday morning at my shop in Bel Air, so don't do a Shrove Tuesday thing.)
"it brays" ... I take it that's done less than rare!

Recently I was pushing a little girl, three and a half in her swing. She said, "Do you know what I like better than blueberries"? "What"? "Pancakes"!

Limo spam @ 5:01 AM!
Posted by: sean | February 23, 2010 10:17 AM
it's not spam if it's useful. Maybe I need a limo to get to IHOP since I'll have all that extra griddle coin in me pocket. live and let spam.

panda bear, www.limohiredirectory.co.uk is only useful if you need the limo to take you to an IHOP in the UK. Unfortunately, despite the name, there are no IHOPs in the UK, so...

No IHOP in the UK? How disappointing. IHOP has French Toast, Belgian Waffles, and even Nutella Crepes. But no bangers and mash. Wow, the Empire really is done and gone.

Will IHOP ever come to the U.K.?
Posted by: sean | February 23, 2010 1:13 PM
I live in the U.K., so I will need a limo to take me to the airport so that I can fly to the States for some Super Rooty Tooty Fresh 'N Fruity madness. Also looking forward to your Moons Over My Hammy.
