Charleston to start serving lunch

CindyWolf.jpg

You thought the era of extravagant lunches was over? Not so. Charleston in Harbor East is going to start serving lunch next Tuesday, Feb. 23.

Lunch will be served Tuesday through Friday from noon until 1:30 p.m. There are several fixed-price options being offered, starting with three courses for $44 a person.

I'm not sure what Charleston's new lunch service says about the economy, the neighborhood, or the health of business lunches (or Ladies Who Lunch, I guess); but it definitely says something.

As a man that lunches after all my time spent in Europe I have long decried the fact that Baltimore has very little fine dining at lunchtime. I can't wait for Charleston to be open at lunch, perhaps Cinghiale next. Perhaps you or the sandbox can explain why so few restaurants are open at lunch in Baltimore.

How wonderful it would be if they served a la carte at the bar....

Something IS better than nothing!

I would imagine as the number of offices increases in the Harbor East area, more of the higher end restaurants down there will open for lunch.

As for lunch options downtown, I'd probably say that Capital Grille is the best option

$44.00 TO START? Seriously, I eaten her food, and it's good but not THAT good. I could feed myself lunch at home very well for a week on that.

I would say that that price does bear repeating, Zazu.

this was just an excuse to post the cap:
divulge value

Only $44 a head for lunch. And three whole courses. It's gonna' be tough giving up my favorite lunch spots like the Dizz -- but in these tough times, I can't resist a bargain.

And Captcha agree: money hushed.

MAG, I'm calling Captcha refresh on you! GOT to be!

My favorite lunch place?
Its a very intimate spot, seating for just one. Its called My Desk.
My Desk serves me exactly what I want every day and never charges me!
