I think I'm beginning to love Milan

I just got this e-mail from Milan's PR person. The new Little Italy restaurant isn't backing down on its euro position. Good for them:

According to GM Peter Mooradian, as of Wednesday night, Milan has the capability to accept euros as a form of payment on checks. Every day the system will be updated to reflect the current exchange rate.

The US dollar rate on the menu will remain the same but the euro rate may fluctuate (i.e., the Risotto Capsanta will remain $22, but it may not always be the €14.68).

The Ambassador Dining Room is now listing its menu prices in Rupees.

(just kidding).

A couple of restaurants here in Atlanta still accept Confederate money.

Cheers to them for making it work and using the publicity for the better. I may even darken their doorstep for restaurant week ( "just pick something you like...". um, i wouldn't have to seriously watch what i eat if i DIDN'T like everything, well that and the allergies)

So if you pay in Euros do you get change in Euros too? I have some leftover from my trip to Italy and I'd love to unload them.

The best part about this is they have gotten a good amount of FREE press both good and bad on the web. The joke is on us for paying attention.

Gimmicks are what kill restaurants and from the advance press on Milan, it's all gimmicks and very little emphasis on a good dining experience.

Renting Flat Screen TVs? THEY HAVE TO BE KIDDING!

Unless Jesus returns and starts turning over tables, I think it's a win for Milan.

Milan might be safe with playing out the euro gimmick, but if there any sightings of Ted McGinley we'll know the restaurant is out of original ideas.

Good reference there RoCK. He indeed was the killer of tv shows!

Can anyone shed any light on why Milan had two bouncer/doormen on the sidewalk behind a velvet rope on stanchions in 20 degree weather Sunday night at 9?

nontoxic largest... Wonder if the captcha team is complimenting EL.

I wasn't there chowsearch, but maybe my captcha was, Acrimony that.

You don't need calculus to do the math.

I thought the velvet rope might be some kind of banking orderliness thing. You mean they weren't there to change my pesos into Euros and explain fine dining if I was strolling on Eastern Avenue enjoying the brisk chill?
