Grill Art's owner dies

MiltonLentz.jpg

Chowsearch sent me an e-mail saying that Milton Lentz, owner of the nice little Grill Art Cafe in Hampden, died Wednesday.

Lentz, who lived above the restaurant, had been sick a very long time. He and Rick Roberts, formerly of Roland Park's Stone Mill Bakery, opened the restaurant seven years ago. ...

Basically that's all I know. I called just now, supposedly when the cafe would be open, but just got a voicemail message.

If anyone knows any more, please post below.

Milton was a very sweet man who had been battling cancer for about five years or more.

That is very sad to read. He will be missed. He was always a presence whenever we ate there and he always personally came by our table to make sure that we were enjoying ourselves. Hospitality like that is becoming less and less an industry standard. I hope that the Grill Art continues to operate under his exemplary influence.

This is very sad. We love Grill Art and Milton was always so good to us.

I haven 't been to the Grill Art in awhile, but the last time I was there, Milton and I had a great chat. He renovated my first house in Butchers Hill and always asked about how things were going in the neighborhood. I'm sorry to hear that he has passed on.

A celebration of Milton's life will take place on his birthday, Thursday February 18, 2010. Our closes friends, Don and Jane Hagner will host at their home located on 4424 Wickford Road, Baltimore, MD 21210 between the hours of 2 and 5 pm. Everyone is invited to share Milton's life with me.

Thank You and Hope to see you all on this very special day. Please contact me if you need any further information.
