More places open Christmas Day
I'm still working on my list of restaurants open Christmas Day. I figure this is helpful for both those who celebrate Christmas (they are usually the ones who ask for a list) and those who don't (who might want to eat out that day). ...
Anyway, my newest additions to the list, which unfortunately I haven't actually made up since the Top 10 a couple of years ago, are the Ambassador Dining Room and Sushi Sono in Columbia.
The Ambassador will be open on Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., serving its regular menu of Indian food in an upscale atmosphere.
Sushi Sono, which is one of the area's most highly regarded Japanese restaurants, will be open Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
I'm almost, and let me stress almost, sorry we're eating a traditional Christmas dinner with friends this year. The idea of Indian or Japanese food for Christmas sounds kind of neat.

That dish you pictured is very artful, but I would have to pass, citing my rule against eating anything that looks back at me.

If you're just looking for food and not a nice sit down meal, I was at Lennys Deli in Owings Mills on Saturday and they had a sign saying they would be open Christmas.

I was walking past Mo's Fisherman's Wharf the other day and they had a sign in the window that they would be open for christmas as well.

How apropos.
We just finished watching A Christmas Story and we were musing about how the only restaurants open for Christmas Day must be Chinese restaurants.

Mo's? Well, that could be a memorable Christmas.

The difference between "memorable" and "scarred for life" is how much of a sense of humor you can muster. I don't think i have enough of one this year to give it a go.

Meekrat, Comedy is when tragedy happens to other people. So, have yourself a merry Farsi pasta factory Xmas. Don't forget to leave your to-go cup outside Gia's Cafe.

Just yesterday I learned that my favorite Thai/Japanese/Chinese restaurant will be open on Christmas Day. The Asian American Restaurant is located at 1309 Francis Ave, tucked away in a small neighborhood strip shopping center in Halethorpe/Arbutus. It is near UMBC and near 695 and I-95.They have been in business for about 3 years and offer what I believe is the best Thai Food in the area along with the freshest sushi around. Yes, I eat there often.
This place seems to be always busy, and during the wait for my food I usually strike up a conversation with those around me. It is amazing how many people drive up from Howard and Montgomery Counties to get their Thai food from here. The owners and wait staff are very attentive, and service is usually pretty quick. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend them.

Oh I confess. I've developed a habit for The Hibachi Grill in Parkville. I really like their green (string?) beans and their Hong Kong chicken. The place is packed from morning until night and they, too have a sign that they will be open for Christmas. All you can eat on a holiday, YUM!!

I know it's a chain, but I just got notice that the P.F. Chang's at Towson Town Center will be open Christmas Day from 3-8 PM.

I guess it's "nice" that these places will be open on Christmas...unless you happen to work there and want to celebrate Christmas.
