After-theater dining in the burbs

RumorMillNosh.jpg

I'm turning this e-mail over to you who live in northwest Baltimore or Ellicott City. Any suggestions as to where to go after symphony or the theater?

I'm having a little trouble picturing the scenario, but I think the idea is that you go downtown for the performance, then head to someplace near home afterward for dinner or drinks:

I know I’m showing my age, but at one time there were so many nice places where you could go for a late-night snack after the symphony or theatre, i.e., The Chesapeake, Harvey House, McCafferty’s.  Now there seems to be a dearth of establishments that remain open later than 11 p.m.  If you should wander into such a restaurant at even 10:30, you get looks of disgust from the servers who want to go home on time and truthfully I can’t blame them.  While I know there are several such places in SoBo, Canton, and Fells Point, for those of us who live in Northwest Baltimore and Ellicott City, there don’t seem to be too many places available that I’m aware of.

Good Luck! Been complaining about this for years

Both 13.5% Wine Bar and Tapas Teratro kitchen's are open till 12 on Friday/Saturday. In Howard County Victoria's is open till 12 during the week and 1 on Fri/Sat. Diamondback Tavern says it has full menu until 2.

Linwood's.

Trip nailed the main two late nite dining options in HoCo, the other one I'd add that I can remember is Dog Pub, they're open until two and I think serve food (mostly no-frills pizza, mind you) until 130.

Another one just came to mind: the new Azul 17. I don't know their kitchen hours but its open until midnight M-W and Sunday and 2 AM TH-Sat

Ellicott City Checkers is always open late.

C'mon Taco Bell is open until at least 1 am and later on weekends

I don't know how late they stay opened, but The Artful Gourmet Bistro is a kind of a nice spot to go to. It's in Owings Mills, I think on Red Run Blvd. cleverly concealed by a strip mall.

A few other choices in Howard County:

*Diamondback Tavern's kitchen off Main Street is open until 2 a.m. on weekends.
*Rumor Mill is also open late.
*Ellicott Mills Brewery is open until 2 a.m., but I don't know how late the kitchen stays open. (Their website is too annoying to spend time finding out.)
*Pure Wine Cafe has small plates until late night, and they're open until 2 a.m. on weekends.
*For a more lively venue, Nottingham's serves food until 1:00 a.m., but they typically have live music on weekends.
