The restaurant issue

GranoChocolateFlan.jpgInstead of Table Talk this week, I wrote a more general wrap up story on restaurants for the Taste section today. Other Reviewer Richard also had one that dealt with less expensive eating places.

The package looks nice in the print edition. You don't get the same effect online -- and I don't usually praise print over Web. If you get a chance, take a look.

I also did my dining awards.  ...

I listened to those of you who wanted a Least Noisy Good Restaurant, but I just couldn't come up with one. I think noisy restaurants are here to stay. (I almost wrote "hear.")

Finally, last week's Top 10 on Fine-Dining Bars made it into print today, along with a few comments. I'm a little worried about next week's, which will be the places to go for Thanksgiving dinner, but maybe someone will decide to go out at the very last minute and I will have saved his or her holday.

Maybe.

Least Noisy Good Restaurant: Charleston? It's been a couple of years since I've been there, but noise was never an issue before...

A very good nomination. Unfortunately I had to stick to restaurants I visited this year. EL

All I know is that MARTY WAS NOT HAPPY YOU DIDN'T VISIT RESTAURANTS WHERE REGULAR PEOPLE EAT.

I know, Mitch. I've been waiting for Elizabeth to come eat at Chicken Rico. I really think she'd like the ambiance.

I THINK WE SHOULD HAVE MARTY TAKE EL OUT FOR A WEEKS WORTH OF DIFFERENT REVIEWS A NIGHT.
TONIGHT'S REVIEW IS THE 1/4 LB BIG BITE FROM 7-11. THE BIG QUESTION IS DO WE ADD CHILI OR NOT.

Thank you for the picture of the chocolate flan. If it tastes as good as it looks... WOW! This picture almost makes up for the picture of the raw oyster from earlier in the week.

Why would anyone get a Big Bite and not add chili? Come on people, if the the chili is free then it's for me.

OMG, that is one GORGEOUS dessert! I'd love to have the recipe.

EL, I really enjoyed your and Richard's reviews...brought to mind places I've wanted to visit but haven't.

Captcha is "ment signaled"--wonder what it's the second half of?

Dottie, looks as if it cut off "com" which makes a certain amount of sense if you think about it.
