Is Orchard Landing closed for good?

OrchardLanding.jpg

I got this e-mail from another Elizabeth, and I can't say I know anything about the place. If anyone does, please post below.

I'm guessing it's another casualty of the recession, but that's just a guess.

When I drove past it yesterday I noticed the closed sign was missing a letter and it looked pretty bedraggled: ...

Do you know anything concerning the status of Orchard Landing on Joppa Road in Towson? The sign says closed for renovations and has been saying that for several months.  They had just renovated it not long ago.  Something isn't quite right.

according to another publication's food blog, this is supposedly going to become another Mo's Seafood.

Thanks!Here it is. EL

Is that because "clossed" only has one s??

I got to laughing so hard I almost decided not to correct myself. Almost. EL

Michael Gettier changed the menu radically when he bought it, and the legion of Hersh's "regulars" stayed away in droves. It sat empty for quite a while when Michael moved on (I think this is when he tried to revive Peerce's Plantation.) The people who bought it as Orchard Landing used the basement dining area for a crab house, and the menu upstairs was a cross between haute cuisine and diner food. A couple of years ago we went for a New Year's Eve prix fixe 3-course filet mignon dinner with champagne, which was quite tasty and reasonably priced. We were among the Hersh regulars who lost interest; we tried Michael's cuisine once, but thought he charged too much money for good-but-not-exceptional food.

another spammer at 6:31 and 6:32.

Sold their liquor license to Mo's, closed for good! Food and service have been declining for a while

Their catering biz, G & G Creative Catering, used Stoffers for their"Homemade" lasagna, yum.........and the famous Rick's chips, well, Rick left about a year ago!
