Next Sunday's review: The Reserve

TheReserve1.jpg

Next Sunday I review the Reserve, the new bar in Federal Hill -- OK, OK, south Baltimore -- that has started serving ambitious food.

It's always surprising to me to find a bar/restaurant that isn't perfectly happy serving wings and a burger. It seems to me those are sure-fire paths to monetary success. But, of course, I'm happy when they attempt a little something more.

not very appetizing photo- I am hoping the food is better than it looks!

What the h*ll is that? Looks like someone did something nasty.

Have been to The Reserve a couple of times, and each time, pleasantly surprised by the food. Although, I can't stay that the kitchen is all too fast to get the food out, but when you do get your meal, it's quite good.

Liked the duck confit salad, butternut squash soup, and some of the brunch items that we've ordered.

I hope they succeed as it's more exciting to have better food offerings at a neighborhood bar.
