Summer restaurant weeks in Howard County

TersiguelsRW.jpgPretty soon there are going to be so many restaurant weeks you'll be able to eat out most of the year at some of Maryland's finest restaurants for $30.09.

We've had a couple at the beach, and Howard County's comes next, July 27 through August 9.

The fixed-price menus actually vary in cost, from $10.09 to $40.09, depending on the restaurant.

You may not be getting a bargain at a restaurant that has a prix fixe anyway, so check first. Most of Howard County's good restaurants are on the list. And let us know how your experience was.

Speaking of restaurant weeks, I just noticed that "Baltimore Restaurant Week" is a group on Facebook. If you join, they will send you updates.

A reminder to newish people, we have a FB group called "D@L". Come join and you can befriend some of the regular and irregulars here.

Actually, Baltimore Restaurant Week's website is now online for the next round, from August 7 to August 16.

Yes it is hmpstd, I forgot. I put the FB group up for lazy forgetful people like me who need to be reminded of everything.

The D@L Facebook group is hard to find. It seems like it displays every person or group with a d or an l in it.

If you look for the Owl Meat Gravy group, I link to D@L or you can try the direct link below:

If you do join the facebook group, please be sure to friend the usual suspects. Most of the discussion takes place on each other's walls, not on the D@L page itself. In general, if you find one of us, we'll suggest many of the blog people to you.

Some of us play Farm Town, too, which is just plain pitiful.

So many restaurants, so little week...

If you do join the facebook group...

...bring your bibs, boots and gloves. We're burnin' daylight.

Farm Town is dull, play Pharm Town. I'm a rogue DEA agent with a secret agenda, a short fuse, and hankering for hookers with a heart of gold. Oh, and I don't play by the rules.

I thought Pharm Town is where you are a sales rep who cajoles/bribes doctors with golf, dinners, tickets and free samples into prescribing your company's latest drug to their gullible patients.

Let us not forget the part of Pharm Town where you supply breakfasts and lunches for hungry nurses and techs and bore them with your product line so that they too can nag the docs about them!

Bucky's back!

prioritize iron bridge wine company during HC week if you haven't been.

I joined over on the FB group.

Yes, at Pharm Town I'm marketing a new drug called Damitol. It only has side effects.

Are they good side effects, Owlie?

Cool, Misha. I'll go check the page, and see if we can get you set up.

Owl, where did "Damnitol" come from? I'm guessing either FIresign Theater, National Lampoon's Radio Dinner, or the Congress of Wonders.

Misha? There is no Misha in the group. You can find me as Umberto Swarm

Damitol? I don't know where it originated. A guy at work used to have a bottle of it on his desk.

Damitol causes an addiction to placebos.

Yeah, I couldn't find Misha, either. Find one of us (Hal is there, too), and we'll set you up with the rest of the gang.

I should mention that the Facebook page is completely unofficial. It has no affiliation with reality at all.

No Misha the Veggie Lover. I'm on under my real name. Michele K.

Got you, Misha. You should get the usual barrage of "you might knows" soon.

Howard County's may be the 1st Restaurant Weeks that is "Buy Local," July 27 – August 9, 2009. Guests can SAVE & Savor the LOCAL Flavor as Howard County’s independent restaurants partner with Maryland farms and wineries to feature local products on special Chef’s menus for every budget $10.09 --$40.09.
