Attman's and Kitchen of India

KitchenIndia.JPGIt's nice that at least some eating place in the city is considering expanding, not closing. Check out Ed Gunts' story about Attman's Delicatessen on Corned Beef Row that ran in the paper today.

While I'm at it, here's a link to Other Reviewer Richard's review of Kitchen of India in Parkville. The owner and customers had mounted quite a campaign (in a nice way) to get reviewed, which always amazes me. But I guess you roll the dice and figure that whether the reviewer likes you or not, at least it's publicity, as we discussed in an earlier post.

God I love Attman's. Pastrami sandwich, a hot dog wrapped in baloney, and a black cherry soda. There is no finer meal.

The finer meal is a corned beef on rye with mustard, a done pickle and a Dr.Browns Cream Soda

Ah, pani poori. Those don't sound quite right, though. The liquid should be inside of the bread shells. Also, "masala" just means "spices," so "masala-spiced" doesn't make any sense.

I prefer bhel puri, but I wouldn't turn down pani puri.

My family always patronized Jack's, now Lenny's. Corned beef with mustard and a pickle was the best. I've never been to Attman's.
The office employees(6 employees) at my first job were treated to sandwiches from Jack's for each of our birthdays.

I eat at Kitchen of India often for dinner. The food is very good, but I really am amazed that the place is still in business. There is literally no one ever in there. Most times I've gone, my table has been the only one occupied. Sometimes it's a little awkward. I guess they must do great business for lunch and carry-out.

Oh Lissa, don't you know that THE hoi polli like their masala-spiced Indian dishes.

RoCK, you are just gonna wave that red cape until I explode, right?

Hue, if only all disagreements were like this one. Either way you go, you win.

In truth, I like to go with Courtney and get a pastrami and a corned beef and swap halves.

Tongue on rye, salt & vinegar chips, and a Cel-ray, please.

Fine. I'll go with Hue and we'll swap halves.

And don't expect me to kiss you if you've been drinking Cel-Ray.

Don't expect me to kiss you if you've been "swapping halves" with Hue.

Hey, Attman's opens in an hour! I'm willing to compromise and split a hot dog wrapped in tongue and a Bud Ice for breakfast.

i visit kitchen of india once in every week with my husband for dinner. i mostly found them moderately busy to very busy and always got great food and frindly atmosphere there.
