Nominate your favorite comment here

I'm hoping this week I'll be keeping up with all the comments, but I promise nothing. On Saturday, when Comment of the Week time rolls around, I may not have a great one, or even a defendable one, to offer. So you can help me out by coming back to this post and nominating any you think is worthy for the rest of the week. (Or for that matter, any earlier in the week.) Hey, you can even nominate your own comments. What do I care? I'm on vacation.

Instead of nominating your favorite comment, how about the most annoying comment? Please!

I think we should be encouraging people to comment, not putting them down.

Most Annoying... I nominate anything by Springs1!

i nominate this comment:

No, that is not Barbie Hargrave. It may be her grandmother though. The original B&W photo can be seen on the Owl Meat Apocrypha

You can find Barbie on Facebook.

It should be no shock that Barbie is now a blonde.

Great Caesar's Ghost! I am officially as bored as I have ever been.

Jesus, you are always on Vacation, do you work?

Actually I sometimes don't tell you I'm on vacation I take so much time off. :-) EL

Most Annoying? Well, I see this thread spiraling down into a sea of snark.

I hope my blatant use of alliteration doesn't get me a most annoying vote from the good professor.

me -- Usually when people start to take a massive amount of vacation days that means they are about to jump ship! ;-)

The pool boy is on vacation?

When one's employer is in Chapter 11, it's a good idea to use up as much of your vacation time as you can. If the company goes under, the odds of you seeing the money for any earned but untaken vacation is not very good. DAMHIKT.

or that they have 38 years on the job and a good union. can we get back to food?

I see who has a sense of humor around here

Cheese

I already mentioned this before, but I nominate Lissa's comment in the farmer's market entry:

Punk broccoli? It slam dances in your stomach? Sleeps on your couch and eats all your food?

I'm always wary of someone taking a lot of vacation. They're usually burning it up before departing/retiring.

I'm more wary of people who don't take vacations.

I'm wary of those who come to a conclusion with zero facts to back up said conclusion.

EL is still working even when she's on vacation, whether in Tennessee or in Buenos Aires or while driving cross country, even when she's ill, she keeps checking in on the blog several times a day to make sure everything is still running smoothly. She hasn't missed a single day since she started this blog over two years ago and that's why we keep reading every day.

I don't know of any other bloggers who do that.

Thanks for noticing. :-) EL

Thanks for addressing that, LL. My allergy/cold medicine has made me too lethargic to snark today but that's a nice way of saying what I really wanted to say!

What LL said!

May I pile on somewhat late and agree with LL, Joyce W, and RayRay? "Me" and TAR, why such snark and vitriol towards EL?

Maybe Laura Lee gets to be the next VoR?

Lovely Laura Lee should be well, something good. The MIstress of Clever and Kind ... MoCK. Ironic, eh? You are thus annointed my dear.

How about you all shut the F up. Complaining that someone is on vacation as they post and moderate 5 posts a day while on vacation? No dessert for you f@#$t%@&s. Love her or leave her.

Works for me, captain, although it would be better with alliteration. But, what isn't?

Blatant alliteration from RoCK? I thought I killed him.

Professor, I'm still around. I'm like a cliché. I will be around forever talking the trite talk, while annoying the erudite and sophisticated.

I'd like to nominate Laura Lee's novel excerpt. I really don't see anything that topped that.

I also nominate Laura Lee for something. Her prose is like liquid pleasure. Please pour some more. I',m quite thirsty.

Add me to the nominations of Laura Lee for comment of the week. Why did Elizabeth's innocuous request generate so much snark? Seems to me the lady works hard, and very successfully, at keeping this blog alive and interesting. She deserves cheers rather than jeers ... kindly leave Intrepid Leader alone. Thank y'all.
