Jury duty lunch, part deux

I forgot to ask last night, but I used to go to a hot-and-cold buffet place in Hopkins Plaza. The owners were Asian. Does anyone know its name? I remember it had a huge selection, including great fresh fruit like pineapple and mango.

First, to answer your question: Nope, no idea.
Second, and completely off topic: for people who take pictures of food, David Hobby's got a line on turning in great food fotos on a fast-food budget.

Looks more like Ford Porn 101 to me.

Um -- that should be Food Porn 101.

Royal something, I think.

I think it is food pron because that site's been blocked and logged by Corporate IT.

There is a Kings Cafe buffet on the lower level of Hopkins Plaza -- near the Lynne Brick's gym.

jjk - you're mixing Charles Plaza with Hopkins Plaza. I think that Hopkins Plaza weigh-n-pay closed down a couple of years ago, EL :(

Oh, bummer. Thanks. Now I'll stop looking for it online. EL

If you've got jury duty at any of the courthouses downtown, try the hot/cold buffet on the 2nd floor of the Bank of America building -- Cafe 100. You can get to it from Pratt or Lombard Street.

When I get called for jury duty I just go to one of the hot dog carts and get a "dirty water" dog with chili, mustard and onions. They haven't killed me yet and are pretty tasty. They are fairly inexpensive, quick, nearby and there are a couple of carts to choose from.

Oh and yes I do take breath mints and gum with me.

It looks like there is a place on the other side of the plaza from where the deli I'm thinking of used to be: http://www.hopkinsplazadeli.com/

I'm not sure if it is the same folks that used to run the weigh-n-pay that was in the same building as RiteAid, but was around the corner on the plaza side. That landlord has been gradually pushing tenants out of there over the last few years. I think the RiteAid even closed recently.

There are several Bank of America-named locations downtown. Cafe 100 is in the Bank of America Center (originally the Equitable Bank Center) at 100 South Charles Street, which is not the same as the Bank of America Building at 10 Light Street (originally the Baltimore Trust Building, among a long list of names over the last 80 years or so).
