Where is my comment?

As you've noticed, things are slow in Commenting Land at the moment. Thanks for continuing to try to post until it finally happens. Actually, Michael A. Gray alerted me by e-mail, which I appreciated. (Of course, the fact that some of you had to post four times gave me a clue, too.) I'm trying to find out what's wrong.

One bizarre note: When I went to "Unpublished Comments," which I now check when something like this happens, I found comments by eatme, RayRay, PCB Rob (two), Trixie, Patty and YumPorcetta, all posted exactly one day and one hour ago. No, they didn't get censored. They all just now appeared, and I just published them.

I suspect a server problem. I keep getting booted off ...

You just can't get good servers these days.

Oh Lissa, I'm afraid you've gone and poked HHH...and maybe even worse: She Who Must Not Be Named...

I poked Hungry Happy Hippo? She Who Must Not Be Named...Brit mysteries?

Should I start to sing, "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Solstice?"

Perhaps the blog server is holding out for bigger tips.

Sorry Lissa, I wasn't clear-- isn't HHH the server who, in a previous post, was more than happy to share with us the multitude of sins we commit as diners? And "SHE" is everyone's favorite, Springs1, who was more than happy to share the even greater multitude of sins perpetrated on her by servers. (My response to your comment wasn't as humorous as I'd hoped.)

Help! I finished tomorrow's funtastic post and tried to send it over an hour ago but it just won't send and yet I can do other thing on the net. Oh the humanity! In fact I can't send any email.

I'm a bit slow sometimes, YP. Not your fault. I was making a pretty bad joke myself, one that is probably in very bad taste considering I'm doing an upgrade this weekend.

never mind. email works again

Lissa,
What are you upgrading to? Please let it not be Vista or IE8. We may never hear from you again.

JM, yeah, I ended a sentence with a preposition. But that is okay now, correct?

Fl Rob - you are so right about Vista. I have it in my newly installed hard drive (following the tragic crash of Jan '09). I HATE it! None of the programs work correctly. I can't use freeware or even the majority of paid programs without having to make sure that they're Vista compatible. And, worse of all, the new version of Word for Vista is a freakin crime against humanity! I still can't figure out where all the editing software is! Give me back my XP!

PCB Rob, this is a server running library software. You don't need to worry, especially since you don't live in Baltimore.

Vista and IE8 are *not* upgrades.

If you think Vista is bad, don't go near Vista 64-bit. I have been told by Sony that they do not intend to write a version of their sound recorder download program for Vista 64. Had to wait six months for another updated program.
