New Sunday brunch at Three... in Patterson Park

Three2.jpgI was just checking my work e-mail -- why do I do that on a Sunday? -- and found this:

Since Three has closed, do you know where Peter Livolsi is working?

I had heard nothing about the Patterson Park restaurant's closing, so I picked up the phone and called.

It sounded like the place was rocking.

The person who answered the phone explained that not only was Three... not closed, but today was the first day of its new Sunday brunch.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The food offerings are both breakfast and lunch items: omelets, other egg dishes, yogurt parfaits, a Monte Cristo and a salmon BLT, to name a few.

It sounded like it was a success.

Three... is open. Someone keeps spreading rumours that it is closed, but it isn't.

It isn't my favourite place to eat, but it has improved a bit over last fall's problems.

Sounds pretty good. Will have to check it out!

Went for brunch this morning, and enjoyed it. Menu is a good combo of breakfast and lunch fare. Breakfast beverages were quite affordable -- $2.50 for a mimosa or a bloody mary. We got out for about $25, including meals for two, a couple of drinks, and tip.

It's not the kind of brunch that's going to compete with some of the city's more established joints (like Shirleys), but it's worth a visit if you want to get off of the regular beaten path...

Three... never closed except during a one-week stretch when Peter Livolsi left and Mike Harmel became the sole proprietor.

Their brunch is affordable. You can get a breakfast sandwich served on a cheddar biscuit or an omelette for less than $10 (both are served with home fries). They also have $2.50 specials for mimosas and bloody marys. Our party of 10 was thoroughly enjoyed it. We'll definitely be back next week.

maybe you should change the name to One ...

I was just informed that Peter Livolsi is still working at Three... I confused him with the former owner, Richard, who sold his stake in the business.

I recently asked this question but now can't locate the post I posted on - I just came back to the Sandbox and I'm already lost! Has anyone been to the new Sunday brunch at Mari Lunas Latin Grille? The server at the other Mari Luna told me it has an omlette station, eggs Benedict, etc. Yum.

I haven't gotten over to Three... yet to try their brunch, but I'll vouch for everything else. Their menu has changed a bit since the owner reorganization or whatever, but I think it's even better that it used to be, and it was always pretty good. Try the sheep's milk yogurt for dessert -- yum!

My husband LOVES the peanut butter chocolate mousse for dessert. He often orders it before dinner, just to be sure they hold one for him because it always sells out.
