Si Salsa and Table Talk, not to mention Top 10
Thanks to Joyce W., I had a lead item for today's Table Talk column in the Taste section. She pointed me to Si Salsa in Pikesville. Have I said how much I like tips?
I had heard about it before, but no one could remember the name. And then when someone told me it was called Si Salsa, but before it had gotten any press, it wasn't easy to Google. Her review inspired me to stop by and have lunch when I was up that way.
I still need a Deal of the Week for next Wednesday's column, by the way. Any suggestions?
The Top 10 that appeared in the print edition and a few comments can be found here.

Have you featured $2 steamed crabs at Ryleigh's on Tuesday nights?
Thanks! That's a good one, although I'll have to back and make sure I haven't featured Ryleigh's with something else. EL

This really has no relevance to this post, but it's been bothering me for awhile. Why doesn't Fed Hill have a specialty sub shop, i.e. college town food. I'm thinking of ridiculous items like thanksgiving subs and bombs (if anybody has been to Newark, Del., they might know what I'm referring to). Fed Hill is just like college except more drinking. It seems like the perfect environment for a place like that.

The $10 TV dinner at Henningers (bar only.) A meat--some kind of chicken, pork chop, or meat loaf--mashed potatoes, a veggie, a piece of bread, and a cupcake.

Here is a tip:
Belle's Broker in the fifth tomorrow at Pimlico.
Just kidding...but the handicapper there likes that horse.
Koco's has a deal on crabcakes on Thursday nights, it was like $19 last fall. Not sure if that is still valid though.

Never try to fill a cat with helium.
Wouldn't the dog be jealous of that fart!

Since my husband discovered this place, I have been to Si Salsa three times. This place is massive and beautiful. I highly recommend their Mexican Style Crab Cakes. Last Saturday we really enjoyed the Patio. We love the ambiance here, especially by the night. Hope the weather stays nice and sunny from here on!

STOP Eve, I'm not supposed to laugh so hard in my office!! Now that my resolution is to stop lurking and comment more, I'm trying to come up with a cooler name. I like to bird watch and also have cats - is Tweety Cat too much? Thoughts, suggestions?

Tweety Cat works. Memorable, for sure. Even without the dog farts.

Betsy - You're not from Pikesville by chance? If you are, you could be Sweet Betsy From Pike(sville).
Or Tweety Cat is good, too.

That Hennigers deal sounds sweet... also, the framing on their website is hilarious.
I like Todd Conner's $5 burger and $5 martini deals on Fridays. Though the term "$5 burger" makes me think of when Carl's Jr. came out with their "$6 burger" mocking Applebees/Chilis/etc.

Heather,
I thought of that too. Especially when Carl's Jr/Hardee's spelled it out, in fancy script, "The Six Dollar Burger".

Never try to fill a cat with helium.
Imagine a cat meowing like Micky Mouse. The mind boggleth.
