More on Three...'s building for sale

Wow. It looks really weird to make a name that ends in three dots possessive, doesn't it? Anyway, I called the restaurant, and the owner I spoke to said that the building has been for sale since September.

Three... has a 10-year lease. Because business is good right now, and should be even better when the weather gets better, he said, he doesn't see why a new owner wouldn't want to honor the lease.

The likelihood of selling the building right now is quite slim.

I've yet to eat at Three... and I never managed to eat at the place that was there before... Parkside, was it? Speaking of which, does anyone remember a third restaurant/dining establishment in that place? My aunt and I were arguing about that last weekend.

All I remember is that it was Block's Pharmacy, then empty for a whole lot of years, then Parkside, now Three... but she insists there was some other place in there someplace and she can't remember the name of it. (That bugs me... when someone argues with you but can't back it up. I mean I'm willing to admit I'm wrong but this just makes me feel like I'm crazy.)

My wife and I went to Three... tonight for "burger night." For those of you not from the neighborhood, the restaurant has been historically resistant to adding a burger to the menu. But I've gotta tell you... it was fantastic. Great burger, good crowd for a Wednesday night, friendly service, and a good deal ($10 for a burger and a pint). I've got to give the management credit -- they're walking the line between the small plate phenomenon and being a "neighborhood place" quite nicely. We'll definitely be back.

Every time I go back to Three..., the menu is shorter. It wasn't that big to start with.

I've had a few good dishes there, and the last time was a world of improvement over the two visits before, but it probably isn't worth a trip to the neighbourhood if you aren't already here.

They had lamb sliders at the very beginning, so this isn't the first burger Three... has offered.

I have heard from a good source that the lease for that location is very favorable to the restaurant. That being said I could see the new owner, if one is found, renegotiating terms. I have also heard that they were not doing very well. A friend was there for dinner a week or so ago and had staff tell them that they would probably be closing soon if business did not pick up.

Glad to here that there appears to be nothing foul afoot at Three...

When the weather is nice, I'll make the ~3 mile trek from my neighborhood to check it out. I'll probably be getting the burger special!

Yes, Lissa, I know that Three... had lamb sliders on the menu when they first opened, but you're comparing apples and oranges. The lamb sliders were a small-plate appetizer back when Three... was trying to be Pazo II (they were rather expensive too).

Can we officially declare "sliders" to be so the day before yesterday?

I adore Three... and it is my and my husbands "go-to" neighborhood place. I find the prices reasonable, the service friendly and attentive, and the food delicious. We love eating outside during the warmer months and watching the hustle and bustle of the neighborhood. If Three... closes, we will be crushed.
