Sip & Bite scheduled to reopen

Suzanne Loudermilk of In Good Taste over at Baltimore magazine has actually gone to Sip & Bite in Canton to see what the story is. Not something I was willing to do, I have to say; it's a lot easier just to link to her entry. According to her blog, the sign on the door says it will reopen Friday.

I'm so impressed I'm going to add In Good Taste to the Dining@Large blog roll. It deserved to be there already, but rebuilding the site after I add a blog takes so long I kept putting it off. Believe me, by the time I go home tonight, my computer will still be rebuilding. I don't know if it slows down D@L from your end or not.

Good Taste does seem to compliment, as opposed to compete, with this blog. I'm surprised that no one has commented on the Josh Hill news over there though.

Well, there were several comments under my Alizee post, so maybe they thought that would take care of it. I go into more depth in next Wednesday's Table Talk. EL

Thanks, Elizabeth!

way was the Sip& Bite closed down

Congrats to Suzanne for actually doing some investigating before posting information. What a concept.

Yes, exactly what I thought. :-) EL

Rebuilding? What kind of crazy-ass software do you have to use to update the blog?

hahahahahaha. EL

My last experience at the Sip & Bite was pathetic. While I was enjoying a good hangover breakfast, our waitress kept coming to the table and refilling those oh-so-needed cokes. At the end of the meal, she gave us our check and charged us for every single coke refill. Needless to say, I was surprised. I was not informed that I was being charged. I tried to reason with her and the manager to get them taken off the bill, but they wouldn't budge and they were quite rude about it. The waitress's tip paid for the $10 cokes and I have not been back since. So while rebuilding, I wonder if they have also rebuilt their policy and attitudes.

Kathy, the Sun's blog software is so old, it uses linotype.

Rebuilding? That is some archaic-sounding software. What is it written in? COBOL? Fortran? APL? ... Basic?!? Some kind of Mexican knockoff like Sí Más Más?

(Oh hell, I'm really sinking low.)

Consider my mind blown.
