It wasn't me
Contrary to what you may think, I didn't crash the whole blog system earlier this afternoon to stop the Vietnam discussion. I was told it was a power outage in the data center that affected other markets as well. Thanks for continuing to try to sign on until you could.

They don't have a UPS? A backup generator?

I know who it was - it was the Viet Cong. Clearly, they've never given up on their guerilla war against us, and they knew that the best way to bring down American democracy was to sabotage my heroic defenses of this Country, our Veterans, Mom, Apple Pie, and the Flag. Commies, man. Commies.

It's not just this incident. Some time back we got a wire service story quoting someone who was identified as "an expert on the Chinese leadership at Boston University." Think of it: The Reds took over BU! And the news media didn't even realize what had happened.

Having lived in Boston while John Silber was president of BU, it wouldn't surprise me at all if the Chinese leadership took over. It would have been a move towards democracy.
