Next week's review...not

Just a reminder that next week I won't have a review because, in the convoluted way of deadlines, "Elizabeth Large is on vacation." Actually, this time I could have squeezed an extra one except that I have jury duty Tuesday. Look for many exciting posts from the jury room.

Should I be worried that my husband is walking through the house murmuring, "Here we come. Here come the Ravens. The team you don't want to see" a la Ed Reed in his press conference last week?

I don't think you need to worry about your husband. We are so not football people, but we watched most of the game yesterday. I even wore purple to the gym this morning (but that was a coincidence--I think!)

No, your husband is in the Zone. What a great game that was. At the gathering I attended, there was some delicious chili cheese dip along with these nacho things that I never did try.

Oh, and there was some beer and shots (Gran Marnier and Makers) for any Ravens scores or great plays.

Since I had to drive, I took it easy on the booze but the walkers got hammered. Anyway, it was a great game!

ZONE PURPLE!

Ed Reed seems to be causing a lot of worry in your family. First your daughter, now your husband.

I heard Uncle Larry say, "Water covers three-quarters of the earth and Ed Reed covers the spread." Should I be worried?

Good one, Bucky!

Bucky,
You funny.

Just so we're clear...Uncle Larry only made up the "the spread" part of that. The rest originated on Gailor's Facebook page and was relayed to us by EL.

I wish I had thought of it all first, though.

Interestingly, over on the sport blogs they are very dark and gloomy. (What seems like) Most of the bloggers are negative about facing the Steelers on Sunday. Lots of specific criticism. Names being named. (I don't know who half of those named are!) Here in the Sandbox, we're just smiling and saying, "Ed Reed"

I'm sure this says many things. To me it says, Foodies are a happier people.

Eve,
I used to post on the sports message boards and blogs, but yes, the negativity abounds. So much hand-wringing! I'm a Ravens fan who still has season tickets even.

But this blog is much more fun!

I think we need a top 10 carry out snacks or meals for eating during the Super Bowl.

That is the point of this exercise, right? I'm so not an American football person.

And we know what we are talking about, here. If the Ravens are + in turnovers against the Steelers next weekend, they are going to Tampa Bay.

Lissa - you are so right about top 10 carry out snacks. The little grocery store that my son works in, sold more stuff for Saturdays game. They were more busy than they probably were for all Christmas season!
