Food fight

Only a mind as devious as Multimedia Editor Emeritus and Cheeseburger Expert John Lindner could come up with this post. Who knew he even knew Cinghiale existed, let alone had insight into the inner workings of its customers' minds?

This would be a good time to wish John a very happy new year and many happy returns of Shallow Thought Wednesday, which makes my life just a little bit easier every week. EL

Top five reasons food fights never occur at Cinghiale:

1. All potential projectiles taste too good.

2. All potential projectiles cost too much.

3. Flying food could inadvertently spill wine.

4. Do you have any idea how much the goose suffered for that foie gras?

5. Ready access to steak knives discourages warriors armed only with Bananas Foster.

I dunno about number 5. I'd rather be sliced with a sharp knife than have burning sugar on my delicate flesh.

Ok, even a dull knife.

Cool Food Fight! Don't know the movie or TV show it came from though.

Happy New Year to jl, EL, and all the visitors to the Sandbox.

6. You might get banned.

Bucky,
Its been a tough week for you huh? You get banned from a blog post, then the Broncos lose, then the head coach gets canned.

Hope your New Year is better!

Rob - I'm on the side of "the head coach got canned" means things are looking up. (Not to get all footbally, but while Shanahan is a great coach, he was a horrible general manager. That's who really got fired. I suspect if he had given up that job, he could have stayed as head coach.)

That clip is from the show Popular which I used to watch in Panama. Don't ask. It ran from 1999 to 2001. It was basically Mean Girls.

..."the head coach got canned" means things are looking up...

Worked for Baltimore

Baltimore, Atlanta and Miami are the models, I think. Along with one other midwestern team that shall remain nameless.

Bucky, I think the Lions are hopeless.

Bucky,
You are right, Shanahan should have relinquished his GM duties if he wanted to remain head coach.

As for that nameless midwestern team, there would be a lot less hate if they gave up that name long ago.

But let us move on. There is a new team in town!

Lissa, the Lions ARE hopeless. They need a change from top-level management on down. And, I hope it happens for the good of the local area and the league. But not in 2009, the Ravens play them. :-)

The Lions need a change from owner on down.

Although, perhaps William Fort has a grand plan to make GM look competent and responsible in comparison to the Lions.

Now, that IS a problem, Lissa. Who's going to fire the owner?

Bucky got banned from a blog post? When did this happen?

Rosebud -- see this blog item for EL's ban on Bucky (and jl) posting comments on food styling.

Thanks, hmpstd! Passing a bug back and forth with hubby has curtailed my reading time and I missed this post altogether.

It was not the same without you Bucky...we missed you!

Happy New Year to everyone!
JL- thanks for all the Shallow Thought Wednesdays. The creativity of everyone is what keeps this blog going strong!

Trixie - thanks. But the day off gave jl and I time to plan a strategy. ;-) SO it worked out.
