Happy birthday, Owl Meat

HappyBirthdayOwl.jpg

I've been told today is Owl Meat's birthday. No word on his age, but maybe he'll fill us in.

Many happy returns! (I love that phrase; I never knew what it meant as a child. Or why it was important, for that matter.)

Sagittarius--why am I not surprised?

Happy Birthday, Owlie.

What do you give the Owl who has everything?

Happy B-day, Owlie!

Hope you feathered your nest, M Hibou.

What do you give the Owl who has everything?

How about a wading pool (bird bath) that could substitute for a SANDBOX.

Happy Birthday.

Alles Gute zum Geburtstag zur Eule!

um, Happy Birthday to the Owl!

I should stop using that babelfish thing and keep it in English.

Enjoy your day!

By the way, did you know that Ozzy Osbourne's birthday is tomorrow?

Owlie and Ozzy?

Happy B-day, Owl! Hope you are stepping out in style!

There is an old, old birthday prayer in my tradition that begins ... "Watch over thy children, O Lord, as their days increase. Bless them and guide them wherever they may be, keeping them unspotted by the world. ..."

It came to mind unbidden as I looked at this thread, and suddenly I am flooded with questions, to wit, What kind of owl is our OMG??

Spotted? (if so, can they change?)
Great Horned?
Snowy?
Barred? (from where?)
Saw-whet? (Say What?)
Barn?
Long-eared (my best guess!)?
Common Screech (only occasionally!)
Burrowing (never!)?
Hawk?
or maybe Great Gray?
(... well, clearly moving in that general direction-- just like the rest of us!)

Cheers to that Worthy

Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday dear Owlie,
Happy birthday to you!

Here is your virtual birthday cake, from the residents of the Queendom of Dining@Large, to you!

Owlie, I'm so sorry to be so late conveying birthday wishes. Hope it was a great day!

Thank you all very much. Your sentiments are much appreciated. And lovely Laura Lee wrote a haiku for me? I am much honored and humbled. It was a wonderful day. I do truly have everything I need this year.

To OMG (My Very Good Friend)

May you be as wise as the owl that you are, as peaceful as a dove and as happy as a lark.
(I know the last two are prey, but take it in the spirit in which it is intended.)

K

A haiku with medieval references. I say we declare Laura Lee to be our poet laureate.

Lissa--I second that motion!

Happy belated birthday OMG. I truly hope you had a wonderful day.

Didn't get online last night so missed the birthday party. Belated greetings, Owlie! And very many happy returns of the day.

Lissa, I'll second that.

Late, but enthusiastic - Hope your day was lovely Bird!

Pretty cool site you've got here. Thanks for it. I like such topics and anything that is connected to this matter. I definitely want to read more soon.
