Another restaurant goes under

I checked my work e-mail and found this:

I went by Fazzini's [Italian Kitchen] in Cockeysville last night and they were closed. The sign said that they were forced to close and that they were sorry to their customers. Do you know what is going on with them?

I don't. If it were a downtown restaurant someone reading might be able to tell us more, but I usually don't get any more information when the place is in the county. Still, if you know anything...

When I went to the Web site, it confirmed that the restaurant is closed.

That's a real shame. Fazzini's and Target were the best things about Cockeysville.

Fazzini's had great pasta and some of the best cream of crab soup around. I'm really going to miss them.

I would be curious as to why they closed. The place was always packed, and they did a great carryout business as well.

Looks like the North Star Tavern in Reisterstown is also shuttered. Used to be Country Fare, but was the North Star for the last 10 years. Sad

Thanks. EL

WOW my husband it going to cry over this one! He loved this place!

"Forced to close" sounds like a landlord problem. Perhaps they can reopen in a new location.

Me: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
My Husband: Sarah what happend? Did you break the computer again?
Me: No, the food blog I read tells me Fazzini's is closed.
My Husband: What??? NOOOOOOOO!

That is how much we will miss that place. What a sad end to Thanksgiving Day.

Speaking of Cockeysville, I'm not sure if you have mentioned this elsewhere in the blog, but word on the street is Ugly Muffin closed its doors too. There is a sign posted on the restaurant door that it closed due to renovations but that was approx. 3-4 months ago. I haven't seen any progress made in the way of renovations. The owner of another store in the same shopping center said they had to close permanently. Is this true? I really miss Ugly Muffin, especially the namesake muffin they baked. I hope they aren't really out of business. :(

Does anyone know if Copra is permanently closed? When it first closed, it had a sign saying they were doing kitchen repairs, but now there's no sign and it hasn't reopened...

I heard via the restaurant industry grapevine the landlord came in and closed them down.

Dang! My wife and I ordered pizza or subs from them at least once a week. When we drove by on Wednesday the sign on the door seemed to hint that they may reopen at a new location. I certainly hope so!

Word is also out that Patrick's in Cockeysville suffered a fire is also temporarily closed.

Haven't had a chance to check for myself. Anyone know for sure?

bryanintimonium -- actually, EL reported the Patrick's fire in her Table Talk column a few weeks back. According to Patrick's website, it will re-open in early January.

Fazzinis will be re-opening in a couple of weeks. Old ownership will be stepping in.

I loved those commercials that the original owners Nick & John did. I've been going there since they opened in the 90's. The food was always excellent and huge portions. Are Nick & John coming back?

John's been gone for quite some time. Nick will be back

Any idea when and where they will reopen?

My son had worked there for several years and he got a call about coming back a couple of weeks ago. Don't have an exact date but I would imagine it wouldn't be too long.

I talked to an employee a couple hours ago, they are back open and Nick is back!!!!!! YAAAAA!!!!!

Thank Goodness, Fazzini's is opened for business again!
