Next Sunday's review

Those of you who only read the Sun online and this blog only sporadically may not realize that the Top 10 from Tuesday the week before is reprinted in the Wednesday food section. In the interval between the two I may have a whole new candidate.
This happened with the Top 10 Noisiest Restaurants. One of people who went with me to the Hamilton Tavern in, where else, Hamilton went nuts when he saw it wasn't No. 1 on the list. I had to assure him it would have been, but when the list was originally made up we hadn't been yet.
So just to let you know if you go back to the Top 10 archives, none of those restaurants, except maybe RA Sushi, holds a candle to it.
But what about the food? Ah, for that you'll have to wait for my review next week in the Sunday Arts & Entertainment section.

I know this question has been raised before, but is even the best food in the world worth it if you cannot even converse with your dining partner(s)?

When we went to the Hamilton Tavern a few weeks back, it was extremely noisy.
Such a change from the last time I was in there, before its reincarnation.

It's noisy because it's small and FULL. Places are noisy because people are in them talking etc. It's ok that some people like things contemplative and quiet, but it's a tavern for pity's sake. Let's see if we can get somebody to open a restaurant in a library or church in Baltimore, that would be perfect for all the "no noise in restaurants and bars" crew.

hey Joe C,
I didn't say that it was noisy was a bad thing, I actually thought it was kinda neat because the place was such a DUMP before. I am very happy to see the place thriving!
As a former VERY local person to that place, we'd all get our drink on at Brannan's (old Wilkens House) across the street and then venture over to the Tavern for our carry-out because it was a lot colder than the carryout at Brannans.
RIP Tim Brannan!
