Wrong, Lil Wayne gets the silver

Do other families discuss most memorable Olympic events over dinner? We do, and particularly favorite Olympic quotes. So I was shocked by Beijing blogger Rick's suggestion that Lil Wayne's comment should get a gold.

My favorite (and I'm seriously paraphrasing here) was from Charles Barkley when he was on the original Dream Team. The interviewer asked him before the game, "Charles, do you know anything about Angola?" And Charles said, "No, I don't know anything about Angola. But I know they're in trouble."

My favorite Barkley quote: "Somebody hits me, I'm going to hit him back. Even if it does look like he hasn't eaten in a while."

Wow...the blog originates in Baltimore and not a single comment so far. I thought sure this topic would provoke a spirited discussion about who really is the greatest Olympic athlete of all time.

Abebe Bikila. Hands down.

I don't get it. Lil Wayne's just sounds like a moron. I don't get the funny. And why do they insist on talking to athletes?

hey Robert from TBRS,

there is a poll on a local football message board here asking who is the greatest athlete from MD. So far, Babe Ruth is beating out Michael Phelps.

Unbelievable, but I don't want to digress too far from the world of food.

Rob't from TBRS--even though this is The Only Blog You Will Ever Need, they are voting on the question of who is the greatest over on the sports blogs. It was running 88% in favor of Michael Phelps when I voted.

I vote for Secretariat, if only for the fact that he never talked.

Hey RevEd,

What about Mister Ed?

Keep me out of this, Wil-l-l-lburrrr.

Mr. Ed gets a special exemption. If you recall, Mr. Ed does not waste words and is far more articulate than Lil Wayne:

People yakkity yak a streak and waste your time of day
But Mister Ed will never speak unless he has something to say. ♫

Rob in PCB - are you laying in supplies and boarding up the windows?

Somebody--I think it was Susan WNAJ--said she would never live where you need snow tires. I, myself, would not want to live where every year Mother Nature tries to kill you with a hurricane.

I hope you stay safe.

Thanks Robert from TBRS.

I was a little worried on Saturday but now it looks my neck of the woods is out of its path and the "cone". We still might get a good slug of rain from it.

I start getting my emergency stuff together in May, so I'm good with all that. Just need to hit the ATM, gas the car up and stock up on the Makers.

"Somebody--I think it was Susan WNAJ--said she would never live where you need snow tires. I, myself, would not want to live where every year Mother Nature tries to kill you with a hurricane". Nope, Rob't from TBRS - that would have been me - and I stand by statement, hurricaines and all! Just gas in the car, cash in the wallet and the Makers - Fl Rob - You are so right! But I still hope it misses you and you are safe!

oops - that last Anonymous is me - having computer trouble - Joyce W. -

Joyce - Indeed, it was you. Sorry. I wish the serch tool would search comments as well as EL's posts.

Yes, Rob't from TBRS, I have often wished the same thing!
