A week of bargain eating out

YellowDogTomatoes.jpgWhile I was making up my list of happy hour food deals, I noticed Jon Parker had asked if we'd done a Top Ten on nightly specials, a comment I somehow missed answering when he posted it. We have, but I've been thinking we should do an update because folks are particularly interested in bargains right now.

Under the same post, Anonymous (please differentiate yourself from the other Anonymouses so I can give you proper credit) suggested a few ways to have a week of corner bar eating/drinking. I thought that would be entertaining, to come up with a special deal for each day of the week.

Suggestions welcome. Friday and Saturday might be tough.

Once again, this is right up my alley. "Don't Know" on Thursday nights is always a good time to get half-price crabcakes. You can get 2 crabcakes and 2 sides for about $12.

I think this came up under a previous post, but we actually came up with a 1/2 burger special everynight from Monday through Thursday. I believe the sequence went:
Monday - Golden West
Tuesday- Cooper's
Wednesday - Duda's (someone else suggested so I can neither confirm nor take credit)
Thursday - Ryan's Daughter (after 7:00)

Man cannot live on burgers alone. :-) EL

Man can try, EL

Monday is not half price any more at Golden West. It is more like 1/3 off, but still a deal. City Cafe also has 1/2 price burger night on Monday.

I seem to remember someone mentioning Koco's crab cakes are on special on Thursday nights. They were the last time I was up there, in May.

Mondays are tough, but I am pretty sure Monday is $5.95 burger and boh night at at Ale Mary's. It is also 1/2 price burger night at Portside in Canton.

Do you think the list could be tailored by neighborhood?

the best way for me to get discounts on the weekends is by signing up for text alerts. crazy lil's usually sends one per weekend for a premium drink and food special. you just need to show them your text when you order. mother's has text alerts as well, but the they can't hold a torch to the lil's specials.

Gertrude's Tuesday specials.

Midnight Sun had something similar the other day. those of us in Canton alternate between Mahaffey's on Monday and Wednesday and maybe Yellow Dog on Tuesday.

Prime rib and baked po on Wed. at Micho's. I believe it's 16.95. Honestly haven't tried it yet because I'm not much on prime rib but those who love it say that they do a good job with it.

Tuesdays seem to have lots of great specials. Two of my favorites are the $10 Tuesdays at Hull St Blues (full meal for ten bucks) and the half price (i.e. $3.50) Mahi Mahi fish sandwiches at Captain Larry's

I believe Duda's Tavern in Fells Point has half-priced crabcakes on Tuesdays.
