Monday Morning Quarterbacking

BlissChef.jpg

Sorry, I was working on happy hour food for tomorrow morning, and I totally forgot about Monday Morning Quarterbacking. Here's the link to my review of Bliss in Riverside, which appeared yesterday. If there's anything you want to say about the place or the review, please post below.

And if you have any thoughts about happy hour deals, I could use a few more of those, too.

City Cafe has a crazy happy hour drink special- 2 for 1 for pretty much anything. There are a bunch of awesome appetizer specials too.

PS- Who kneels on the ground with a plate of food in front of a floor mat? Interesting photo...

Cauliflower!

I'm skeptical about whether Bliss will be able to make a go of it in Riverside.

I grew up with in walking distance of Riverside. Actually, I was there before Riverside when the area was known as Belcamp.

Anyway, the Riverside area is not yuppie/gourmet area. It is tract housing for the working class. Now, I'm sure economic development guy would tell everyone that the area is going to get crazy rich when BRAC comes to town, but I just don't see it. The other restaurants in Riverside are Cracker Barrel, Ruby Tuesdays, Waffle House, Box Hill Pizza, and several fast food places. I'm not sure that neighborhood will support a place that seves things like filet mignon and lamb chops, nor do I think people will drive over from Bel Air or Fallston to eat there.

I would imagine that Bliss will work better as a coffee/dessert/soup/sandwich place than a fine dining restaurant.

It seems like its trying to be too many things at once.
