The owl is still missing, but...

GreatHornedOwl.jpgOwl Meat still seems to be off in his aerie (do owls have aeries?), brooding over philosophical questions and the faltering economy, and not in the mood to play games. Of course, I never give up on Funtastic Thursday until the stroke of, well, I don't think I'll admit publicly just what time I crawl into bed. But there is still time, in other words.

However, Susan WNAJ, has stepped into the breach with some quizzes for us in case he doesn't make an appearance.

Here are the links. ...

An aerie is a nest of an eagle or other bird of prey, built at a high altitude.

I suppose the clue is "high altitude." How high to owls go? Calling OMGwhatever...

Ok -

Please understand that I picked the the right Travelocity gnome only by pure chance...

Hi, I'm Drew Carey. Welcome to the Price is
Right. Here's the first item up for bids ...

No offense to SWNAJ, but how lame is this?

16 on the mascots.

Darn Energizer Bunny!

I got flustered and quit. Read a couple Mutts posts and the sleeping bag story. Now I'm hungry and grouchy.
Susan WNAJ, the tests are diabolical. A monocle on the Pringle's guy? I sense that you may be OMG writing as Susan WNAJ. But what if I'm Piano Rob pretending to be Bucky writing as jl, when in fact I'm Thurgood Krumpacker dictating to Lacey Doily who's standing in for hmpstd who's channeling Rosebud?
Does whoever I am win a prize for guessing all that, EL? ... assuming you're really EL. Has anyone actually seen EL?

Well, you certainly don't have John Lindner's right e-mail. EL

I have almost no capacity for detail, a trait that grows more pronounced the old I get.

Susan, you do realize, don't you, that doing this post is a job. Congrats...

Piano Rob: I protest your remarks!
I think I should get brownie points for stepping in and providing some quizzes, however lame they may be.
What would the Sandbox have to entertain themselves with, if not for these quizzes?

I would have defended you, but I knew you could take care of him by yourself. :-) EL

I guess I'm just a logo-kinda guy.

Susan WNAJ, and who saved Thursday for the Sandbox, wrote: I think I should get brownie points...

There you go, EL...a top ten of bakeries (where you could get brownies).

Just a epiphany...

Susan, WNAJ: I enjoyed your quizzes. Piano Rob has been a little out of sorts of late. I think it is the heat and humidity.

Oh, fine - I'm being ganged up on. Susan WNAJ - please note that I wrote "no offense" and I meant that.

Regina - "out of sorts"? You may be correct. I wish I were out of here and someplace else. Perhaps the humidity of Miami has stuck with me.

Boy, am I lame.

Mascots 14 out of 20
Logos 15 out of 20
Fakes 4 out of 7--how come the rest of you got 20 questions in this category? Did the system decide I was wasting its time?

In my defense, I would never ever buy anything labeled "Baby Phat."

Mascots 13 - 7
Logos 16 - 4
Fakes 15 - 5

... and I wonder who I was channeling to get that many right!!

Dahlink -- I suspect that when you arrived at the final page for the Logos quiz, you followed a link at the bottom of that page to the "Counterfeit Products Quiz", which started with a Gucci purse, and which only has 7 questions. The "Can You Spot the Fake Product?" Quiz, which starts with a Heinz ketchup bottle (at this link), does have 20 questions.

As for the difference between the two quizzes, the "Counterfeit" quiz compares genuine and sham goods, while the "Fake" quiz simply doctors genuine product packaging.

Hey Piano: remarks were just in jest.
Last time I save the Sandbox when Owl disappears :-)

jmpstd (any relation to our good friend hmpstd?) is absolutely right. Is it Friday yet?

thanks hmpstd.

I was wondering what quiz she took to get "Baby Phat"

Back to the Owl for a sec.

Will he ever reveal the identity of the happy flaming banana pepper thingy?

Sorry, Dahlink -- my typo on the prior post. (The power had gone out, so I had to re-enter the personal info, and didn't think to check it for typos.)

So, how did you do on the Fake Product quiz?

PCB Rob - I feel you on the crazy happy banana thing. I don't know how many Thursday mornings in a row now I have woken up with bright hopes for the revelation, only to have him tease us. And now he (and the crazy happy banana thing) is just.... *gone.* I'm starting to get depressed.

Too muck like those IQ thingies: which one is different the same. I always fail them, too.

jmpstd (any relation to our good friend hmpstd?)

Quite probably, given that h and j are next to each other on the keyboard, making it an easy typo to make.

hmpstd, even with with right quiz, I couldn't do better than 50%. I hate to shop ...
