I'm not sure I want to know exactly what chik fried chick is. I'm picturing a blind, mutant bit of poultry (lost it's 'c') cooking a biker chick.

Elizabeth,

What's a nice girl like you doing in a place like that???

Ya gotta love road trips - and phone cams!

Smok'n B's BBQ & Deli looks like one of Alton Brown's "Feasting on Asphalt" stops.

So didja try Art & Antiques' fresh-gator Gatorade?

What a hoot...keep it up!

yum-O! chicken fried chicken is delish. hopefully this trip was a lot of good real southern food.

And what, pray tell, is the difference between chicken fried chicken and plain ol' fried chicken?

Mr. OF -- according to this Wikipedia entry, it sounds like "chicken-fried chicken" means a boneless cutlet, breast, or other thin, flat piece of chicken meat, pounded out like cube steak, and then pan-fried in the chicken-fried steak manner, while "fried chicken" would be the "traditional" KFC or Popeye's output of deep-fried bone-in pieces of a chicken.

And what, pray tell, is the difference between chicken fried chicken and plain ol' fried chicken?

Either $2.59 or 350 calories?

Thanks, hmpstd, it sounds almost good enough to eat. I had visions of something like KFC, rebreaded and refried, and I wondered "Why?"

RtSO, I'll take the $2.59 - I already have too many calories.

The "Gatorade made from fresh Gators" is a dig on the Florida Gators. Go Big Orange!

Hey, I found your site while doing a search for...believe it or not...Smokin' B's BBQ in Monteagle. I haven't eaten at the Songbird Cafe (yet?) but I gotta tell ya...that BBQ place rocks! The food is really good. No lie.
