A few too many pharmaceuticals for the cold? A thread head line and no comment?
Very amusing. I would have posted it with the entry before, in which I said everything, if I had gotten it in time. BTW, there is no such thing as too many with this cold. EL

Be well.

When I first saw that picture, I thought it might be a trailer from Attack of the Crab Monsters, a terrible movie from 1957 that I remember seeing on TV as a child.
Love that link. My favorite part is "Plot Synopsis: This plot synopsis is empty," followed closely by "Plot Keywords: Eating Brains, Exploding Airplanes, Giant Monster." In preparation for Crab Week, I think all of us need to get hold of a copy, watch it, and write a mini-review. Or perhaps I can talk Sragow into doing one for us. EL

Will Crab Week include an eat-off? I'd bring my A-game for that. Sam Sessa eats crabs like nobody's business.

Along with the steamed crab eat-off. How about a homemade crab cake contest?

I don't know how many times I've changed my name to Rosebud on this computer and ended up posting as Janet. This changing back and forth is giving me a headache.
If you want me to, I'll change it to Rosebud if I notice Janet. I don't like to do it without your permission. EL

I'm trying to remember to check the saved info, but if it gets past me again, I would certainly not object to you changing me back to Rosebud. Thanks, Elizabeth!

I wasn't trying to be snarky with my first comment, but after reading a comment on part one, I'm thinking I'm missing something. Do you actually have something more than the header on this post? If you inserted a video, its not showing. The header is all I'm seeing. I'll go look with IE7, but for me its blank in Firefox.
I didn't think you were being snarky. I misunderstood. I thought you were being funny about the fact that I hadn't felt well enough to write an explanation about the video, not that you couldn't see the video. Do you have Flash Player? EL

Okay, I'm in IE7 and its still nothing but an header and 7 posts, through Ms. Rosebud at 9.46. This may be why there is so little action on this thread. On D@L if you have crabs (he, he) you have lots of comments. Actual posts, (excluding Ms Rosebud's house keeping and me) total only 3.
I dunno. I'm sorry. I'll see if Multimedia Editor Mary has any thoughts about it. (If she's checking her Sun e-mail today.) EL

I've got the video on my Mac. (No snarky comments from the anti-Apple contingent, please.)
Yes, I have it on my Mac using both Safari and Firefox. EL
Posted by: Dahlink | April 20, 2008 10:54 AM
I do have Flash Player. (I try hard to keep my toy quotient as high as possible.) One of the reasons I switched to Firefox is because Flash Player and IE have never learnt to play together.
Interestingly there is no visible indication that something is missing. Often you will get a little box with a red X when a picture is not available, for whatever reason.

This will shock you: I'm thinking its a problem with the blogware. I have looked at other Sun blogs (hanging my head in shame) where the author has posted a video, and nothing is there. At the same time, I can see the content of the video box on the home page. Why do I feel like the Tribune Co. bought the blogware at C-Mart?
This crack blogware? Never. :-) EL

I'm using IE7 with flash and had no problem with the trailer. Very strange.
Posted by: Rosebud | April 20, 2008 11:30 AM
No problem seeing the MPT trailer in Florida. Of course, seeing the program may be a bit dicey.
Posted by: bra1nchild | April 20, 2008 12:27 PM
The video shows fine here (PC running XP) with both Firefox and IE (version 7).
Posted by: Hal Laurent, VoR | April 20, 2008 12:47 PM
I couldn't see the video using the latest version of Firefox with Linux, but I also have just about every security addon installed (adblock, noflash, etc.). Worked fine with Epiphany, though.
Since Epiphany is based on Firefox, I assume it is one of my addons.
As for IE...just don't use it. Please. Any version.

Well, unless there is a truly superior Geek in the sandbox to offer aid and assistance, $%@!%%^*&%(*$#%. I just downloaded Flash Player and after uninstall my old installation, installed FP. Now, here's the $%@!%%^*&%(*$#% part: the trailer now shows in IE7, but still nothing in Firefox (which is current). So, for the several reports of it working, thank you. I'm giving Firefox a time out, in the corner. $%@!%%^*&%(*$#%, $%@!%%^*&%(*$#%, $%@!%%^*&%(*$#%.

[One more short trip to geekdom and then no more, for a while.]
Ms. Lissa, I generally agree with your view on IE, and I have added the add-on that makes a Firefox tab think its IE, but some sites only work in IE (though the IE tab seems to be working okay.) So, IE is installed, but rarely used, these days.
Now, will someone pass me a Peep?
Posted by: Robert (the Single One) | April 20, 2008 5:52 PM
Robert (and all), I'm seeing and playing the video in Firefox and not having any issues. I'm also stumped as to why you might not be. Sorry I can't help!
Posted by: Multimedia Editor Mary | April 21, 2008 7:26 AM
Hmmm ... I had no problem playing the video on IE. Not that I'm rubbing it in.
John Shields has done programs that talked about the fine art of crab dining. If you can get past his fey delivery, weary attempts at humor and that frightening creature known as the Kitchen Goddess, you might enjoy his travelogue (although he's no Rick Steves).

Weider and weirder. This afternoon the trailer appeared. I give up.
