Next Tuesday's Top Ten

Enoteca.jpgLast week Dahlink reminded me of a suggestion by Regina for a Top Ten: places I would go back to on my own dime. After the roller-coaster thrills of this week's Top Ten, maybe it's time for a more sedate choice. Places good enough for me to be willing to pay for the meal sounds just fine.

I think no one will go too crazy as long as I don't make RA Sushi one of them.

I'm going to start with the restaurants I've reviewed since January 2007 and hope there are 10 of them. That way it won't be just a list of my favorite places, which is different.

For once it doesn't make much sense to say suggestions welcome.

Are you sure there are 10 you'd be willing to pay for?

How about including your husband's since we get no say?

That's an interesting idea. And you do have a say. If you can remember my reviews. And you get to say WRONG WRONG WRONG if I include a chain. :-)

On another subject, I always read your user name as Maryland Lover Muncher, which made perfect sense. (You love local food.) But Blogger Kate said to me the other day that Middle River Muncher had posted on her blog, and it put things in a whole new perspective. I hadn't noticed the extra r somehow.

I have ALWAYS read mdlrvrmuncher as "Middle River Muncher," and in fact she helped inspire my transformation into Dahlink. Thanks, mdlrvrmuncher!

Funny, I thought she was a he.

Like Elizabeth, I also read mdlrvrmuncher incorrectly at first, although apparently I figured it out sooner than she did.

I'm always the last to know.

Oh, you have no idea what a load that is off my mind. I was afraid it might stand for More Damn Locavores Running Vegan Restaurants, Muncher.
Whew.
Once again, shyness and patience pay off.

"For once it doesn't make much sense to say suggestions welcome."

And you think that's going to stop anyone?

Nope :-)

"I'm always the last to know."

Not really. I've been misreading it, tto, and didn't notice until you mentioned it. Oh, and I also assumed mdlrvrmuncher was a male. It's funny when you start to put realitynext to out mental pictures of people we've only met online.

Not trying to out anyone here, just show I'm not crazy. And acknowledging I shouldn't make any assumptions. But he/she did mention his/her wife under a Valentine's Day post. They cooked dinner together at home.

Okay, I stand corrected on mdlrvrmuncher's gender--so sorry! I really think we need links to backtrack by poster, but the software would probably be fried by OMG's various transmutations.

I can't WAIT for the First Ever Big Ace D@L Blog Party where we'll get to put names (or screen names) to faces. Let's see - where shall it be? The sooner the better, I say. Then, since our Fearless Leader will necessarily (or not?) be anonymous, we can have great fun deciding who she is! Or Sam Sessa can come disguised as Ms. Large. We can also complain bitterly about the size of the pours. ROFL

Gotta go to Ethel and Ramones. As was suggested by several people in a recent blog, I went there last weekend the gumbo is to die for. If the other food is half as good, I've found a new home. I also like the food at Remomo's in Arundel Mills. it always seems to be really cooked, not microwaved in any way. Anybody else crazy about Remomo's?
