Todd Conner's opens

conners-1.jpg

I wrote about Todd Conner's in Fells Point in October, and now it's finally opened.

Midnight Sun Sam brought me the menu, which is more than pub grub but still down-to-earth. For instance, there are burgers and crab cakes, but also a grilled tuna over mixed greens with an Asian vinaigrette, sauteed snap peas and wasabi mashed potatoes.

One interesting thing is that this Fells Point tavern has...

...a kids' menu, like Alexander's Tavern. The area is changing, I suppose because more young families are moving downtown.

One impressive thing is that when I wrote about it in my Table Talk column in November, co-owner Nikki Popovich told me they planned to open New Year's Eve, which is exactly what they did.

The place is named after her and her husband's first born, she told me. At the time, she wasn't even pregnant yet. I'll have to ask her if that's changed when I talk to her again for next week's Table Talk.

I'm not sure why it's surprising to see kids menus in Fells Point-not only are there lots of young families living in and around the area, but it's a also a destination for local and out of town tourists. Walk around the neighborhood any Saturday or Sunday and you will see tons of people with strollers and kids. I would think any smart restaurant owner would go after that population, especially for lunch/early dinner. I have found Slainte, Red Star, Koopers, Du Claw and others to be very welcoming to kids-heck Bertha's used to even have a playgroup that met upstairs (maybe still does).

There are times when I forget the location of a new place; if you include
on the reviews on this site, it would be
a big help as most are not as yet in
the phone book. Thank you, enjoy
your reviews and try to sample all.

Good point. The link of the name will also take you to the Web site where all the info is.

I love Todd Conners!!!! The place is refreshingly clean and the staff are some of the best of round. The food is warm and inviting as well.

I went to Todd Conner's last Wednesday and was very pleased with the food. I had the "meat special" which was a strip steak and my friend had a crab cake. Both were excellent.

If you try Todd Conners you will keep coming back. Great food, the best people.

Do I smell shills?

I went to Todd Connors and now I can fly.

We went to TC's last Sunday for brunch. It was a random stop in - hadn't been there before but everything else was either packed or just wasn't appealing.

We were pleasantly surprised! We had an awesome, simple, but well-done breakfast (best homefries I've ever had) and I've been craving the bloody mary I had all week!
Their specials and Tuesday game night are definitely something I'm coming back for, and I really enjoyed chatting with the owners about opening up the place and how it's been.
Thanks!

Uh, Owl, weren't you always able to fly?
