The next Top Ten

TakeAGuess2

I went back through the blog, but couldn't find who asked me to do a Top Ten on places that are open for a holiday dinner on Christmas Day. At the time I thought there wouldn't be enough beyond hotel dining rooms and Chinese restaurants.

But now I'm finding there are more than I thought. I will have to include some hotels, but I'll do my best to keep them at a minimum. Chinese restaurants I'll cover on Christmas Day itself, which falls on a Tuesday.

So next Tuesday's Top Ten: Places That Are Open Christmas Day.

I believe Sotto Sopra is.

How about a Top Ten Indian places? Or even top ten Indian buffets?

Kind of off topic, but still relating to the winter. How about a top ten places to get soup in the winter? I love me some soup when it's cold out, which is probably why i found myself in front of a huge bowl of pho at Minato last night. Just an idea.

It's been awhile, but you can find a Top Ten on soups at http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/entertainment/dining/reviews/blog/2007/10/top_ten_places_to_get_soup.html#more

How about a top ten place to eat healthy? This will probably be a popular topic after the holidays! I don't do a lot of eating out because it's hard to find restaurants that serve delicious and healthy food.

Excellent idea!

Its too bad that you will not list the top ten Chinese restaurants before Christmas Day. Don't you know its a tradition for any number of Jews to go to the movies and then eat Chinese on Christmas Eve?

Well, it's not like it's set in stone. I can change my mind. :-) On the other hand, what should I do for Christmas Day?

Thanks Elizabeth, I had ask back before Thanksgiving when you were doing a holiday party place blog. I look forward (fork at the ready) for the list.

',,, what should I do for Christmas Day? '

How about (wait for it): Crabcakes.

I'm willing to bet (judging from the number of hits on this week's hot topic) a lot of people will be eating pizza for Christmas dinner.

I'd like the second the suggestion for a Top Ten healthy places to eat out after the holidays.

My entire family is 900 miles away. Where does a guy - single, alone - go for a decent holiday meal? (I'm not looking for matchmaking.) It was depressing sitting home on Thanksgiving ordering pizza. I'm interested in a place easily reached by bus or cab. While it's also depressing dining alone in a nice restaurant, I'd like to find someplace with welcoming and nonjudgemental service. Thanks! (Sorry - I didn't intend for this to come off like a Dear Abby letter. Just searching for suggestions.)

Ditto Phil's suggestion -- a top 10 Indian buffet list would be great.

For everyone's viewing pleasure - a YouTube favorite.
