Legal Seafoods to close

Legal.jpg

I didn't realize it, but the Legal Sea Foods lease expires this year at the 100 E. Pratt location. I just found out when I learned that negotiations for a new spot elsewhere unexpectedly fell through.

Legal's last day in the Inner Harbor will be Dec. 23. It's been there since 1998.

What's with all the closings? I was at Lulus on Broadway last Friday night for their last hurrah!

Did you happen to hear where the chef is going?

i had heard a rumor last year that they were planning on moving to the Verizon building at Pratt & Light when the renovations were complete. I wonder if that's what will happen???

They were expensive, parking-challenged, and shipped their seafood from a commissary in Boston. And the competition eventually eclipsed them.

This is really bad news! My wife and I were there 2 months ago to celebrate after receiving some great news. We had no reservations and the place was very crowded, but the staff treated us in an excellent manner. We had to wait a while, but as we were waiting a staff member came up to us frequently to let know the status of the available tables. During the meal, the food and service were excellent and at the end of the meal the manager came to our table and apologized for the long wait to be seated, and then gave us free dessert.
