Brunch at Donna's

waffles.jpg

Donna's at Cross Keys has a new brunch menu and a new waffle iron. On Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the restaurant will be serving such specialties as waffles with whipped cream, clementines and burnt orange sauterne syrup, spiced pumpkin pancakes with maple walnuts and mascarpone cheese, and a crab omelet with avocado, hearts of palm and hollandaise. The menu is a la carte, and prices run from  $5.50 to $16.95.

Other area Donna's also serve brunch, but the menus are different at each one.

I go to Donna's at Cross Keys frequently, as I live within walking distance. It seems the place has been off its game for the past year or so. I think there has been a good deal of turnover there, and it starting to really hurt the restaurant. Far too often I am having to return my food, which is quite inconvienient when I get it to go. My orders have been consistently mixed up, and on more than one occassion food was salted to the point of being inedible.

Have never been for brunch but I don't think I've ever had a decent or memorable (in a good way) at any Donna's. Like Cafe Hon Ifind them wildly overrated with an inexplicable rep.

I agree with Dan Taylor about Donna's. There are two near my office, and neither serves the quality of food that justifies the cost.

What a shame. The Donna's that used to be in the Biblot (sp?) book store in Timonium had wonderful food.

Donna's may not be perfect, but it is a delight to go to a place with such variety of salads and other ways to eat healthy and delicious--and I'd love to have a Donna's in Dundalk, where I live.

You naysayers are so wrong. Along with the new brunch menu, the new luncheon menu at Donna's Cross Keys is fabulous. The grilled cheddar cheese with apples and applewood bacon one of the best I have tasted. The Bar B Que Quesadilla (yes that's right) delicious.
New salads, new pizzas. new combinations. Wonderful. 15 years later and they are still serving some of the best food in Baltimore. I fyou haven't been back ina while go back. If you haven't been at all, now is the time. You should try it. You'll like it.

The last time I went to Donnas /Cross Keys, I vowed to never return. The service was beyond abominable. But, horror of horrors, the place was simply not clean. Tables smeared over, Discarded food and crumbs all over the floor under the tables, between tables, plates, glasses, condiments on tables not checked for residue. Just nasty! To boot, the waitress was cranky. Admittedly, this was in October.
