Halloween Deep Thoughts
The world is divided into two types of people. Ask yourself this to figure out which kind you are.
Do you buy candy to hand out at Halloween you won't be tempted to eat (such as SweeTarts), or do you get Kit Kats and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups because those are your favorites and you won't be stuck with junk if no one shows up at your door?
Here are some mildly interesting facts: ...

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are known as Reese Peanut Butter Cups in Canada, don't ask me why; and 2007 was a banner year for Denmark because Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are now available there for the first time, according to Wikipedia.

I buy the stuff I wouldn't be tempted with if there's some left over. So, first of all, no chocolate.
This doesn't work with my husband, who will eat any and all candy no matter how sour or disgusting..

Kit Kats are my favorite.
I hand out a variety of candy that I know I like(crunch, m & ms, sweet tarts, kit kats) and that most other people like. I remember when I used to trick or treat I hated getting "cheap" candy i.e. tootsie rolls, bit o honey, no name toffees, etc so I try not to do the same (no offense). I also don't want to get stuck with the candy I don't like and don't want to spend my money on something that I know most people won't eat.

I buy a bit of the good stuff and the penny candies andmix it up. It doesn't matter b/c we alway run out of candy since we get so many trick-or-treaters in Federal Hill. We basically have to limit the number of peices we give to each kid and cut it off around 6:30 otherwise we could go for hours. First come, first serve! Happy Halloween!

My favorite was always the Mary Janes. I wonder how I would feel about them now.

Everybody thinks I am nuts but I love Mary Janes and those clack and orange wrapped candy that are like a Mary Jane. Another create thing about them is they are cheap! Since I am a teacher, I go to the Halloween/Harvest activity my school has so we hardly ever pass out candy at our house.

My strategy this year is to hand out the little bags of assorted M&Ms to the little kids who come first, then start to mix in the good stuff--the Kit Kats and the Reese's PB Cups, etc. as the crowd at the door gets older and more discriminating. And yes, there should be a couple left over for me. Anything more than that gets taken to work.

So, what was your Halloween like?
Not a single person came to our house last night. My husband started on the candy at about 9:00 pm. I'm so glad there's nothing there I like, or I'd be in deep trouble.

We bought 2 bags of candy bars and only had 6 trick or treaters.
The last 2 were taller than me and looked old enough to drive.
I sent the leftovers to work with my fiancee, otherwise I'd eat all of it !!
