Alexander's Tavern update

alexanders.jpeg

Sam Sessa, formerly Carry Out Sam, was kindly covering my beat on his blog, Midnight Sun, while I was gone. In case you missed it, here's a link to his info on Charlie Gjerde's new place in Fells Point, Alexander's Tavern at 710 S. Broadway, which is supposed to open next week. (I lifted the photo from Sam's blog.)

Supposedly it's a casual family restaurant as well as a bar. In any case, I imagine the food will be a cut above traditional bar eats.

Elizabeth, your trip sounds fantastic! My wife and I did a Western Med cruise 5-6 years ago. And yes, saw the Smart cars and fell in love with them. They are supposed to start selling in U.S. within the next couple of years I believe. Actually, there was an article in your paper a while back about a guy who bought two of them, and took him a couple of years to get them, and they were very expensive, because of the way he had to obtain them. They are Great, and some other cars similar to them. I think they are made by Ford, which is kind of sickening, but Americans have to have their SUVs or bigger, don't they?
