The people have spoken
It's official. Next week's Top Ten Tuesday will be romantic restaurants. I, too, was struck by Mary's nomination of the Melting Pot (pictured). It occurs to me that when you're looking for a romantic restaurant, it's one time when great food takes a back seat to other considerations. Please keep posting ideas below.

Nothing beats the service and atmosphere of The Milton Inn for a romantic dinner.
Also on my list:
Aldo's
The Prime Rib
Oregon Grille
If I could go back in time 20 years, Pierces Plantation would be the only name on the list! Sigh.

I, oddly enough, have the exact same list as Ray. And I would have them in the same order! Minus Pierces Plantation- I missed the "good years" I guess. I would also add Kali's Court (one of the more private tables) to my most romatic list.

I would add my vote for Oregon Grille--but only in the colder months. We like the cozy indoor spaces better than their summer outdoor dining area.

The Prime Rib? Really? Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of their steak, but every time I've been there, it's been an overcrowded madhouse. Is there a back room or something that I'm missing?

We've had a lovely time at Pisces with the amazing view and piano and/or jazz music. It gets knocked for its food sometimes, but I think the view more than makes up for it, especially in terms of romance.

I think fall is very romantic so the onset of the season is great timing for a Top 10 Romantic Restaurants. The first restaurant that comes to mind is Elkridge Furnace Inn.

Try the Chameleon Grille near Montebello Terrace. It's an unlikely location but the food and service are top notch, the ambience has a quirky artsy flair to it and it definitely lends itself toward an old-world romanticism.

Juliet,
I agree that the Chameleon is a great place, but its not called a "Grille". At least it wasn't the last time I was there.
When I was last there, it was a Friday in Lent so I had their vegetarian offering. It was a spaghetti squash prepared in a sauce that I had never had before, and it was outstanding. Plus, it came with a side of quinoa, a dish I wanted to try but hadn't to that point. It was so good, I now eat the stuff at least once a week, but haven't been able to replicate how the Chameleon did it.
Most of all, we were just pleased that Lauraville had a great restaurant.

Romantic = atmosphere + intimate seating + low noise level + a "special event" menu (Buffalo wings are not romantic!) + servers who get why you are there. The closest we get in Harford County is Josef's, which scores pretty high in every area except seating.
