I came across your blog while I was searching for a restaurant I used to go to, the Desert Cafe in Mt Washington. I've been away from Baltimore for about five years, I'm back for a visit for a few months and I was reminiscing about the foods that I missed. I loved the beef kebab sandwich there and since you said you could try to get the recipe I would love it. I did check their menu online ( plan to visit soon) I saw another favorite, the mango curry chicken salad, and a chicken kebab, but not my beloved beef sandwich. Can you help me out please?

I'll do my best, but restaurants seem to have a hard time sharing recipes, often for legitimate reasons. (Serves 200 and anyway it's not written down.)

I used to live in Columbia, MD near the Last Chance Saloon. I loved their Shepherd’s Pie, served with onion rolls on the side, and used to save my pennies to eat there while in college. I moved to North Carolina about 8 years ago and have never been able to find Shepherd’s Pie I like as much.
